PRESS RELEASE: Ray\'s Roulette Gamble
RAY GAMBLES ENTIRE SHOPPING BUDGET AND IS LEFT WITH £2 TO SPEND NEXT WEEK
This morning (Wednesday 9 July), Ray took on his ultimate challenge as Big Brother’s Head Of The House when he took part in his own individual task to determine the food budget for next week. This week’s individual task was to gamble the current food budget of £51, on an authentic casino-style roulette table in the Irish pub-style reward room. His gamble has left the housemates with £2 to spend next week.
Ray had six chips to gamble with – five £10 chips and one £1 chip. Alone, he had to decide where to place the chips and he was only allowed one spin of the wheel. He didn’t have to gamble if he decided against it, or he could have chosen to bet a percentage of the money. However, Ray put £20 on red, £1 on black, £10 on 21(red), £10 on 29 (black) and £10 on 16 (red). The ball landed on black number 8, so as he had placed £1 on black, Ray won £2.
The rest of the housemates watched him via the plasma screen in the main room and were not allowed to communicate with him at all. When he saw where the ball had landed, Ray smiled, lowered his head and said “maybe not.” The rest of the housemates were good spirited and cheered for him. Ray remained in the Irish Pub and poured himself a drink before having to decide how to allocate his £2 budget.
With £2 to spend, Ray decided to buy 1 pack of value toilet roll, 1 tin of sweetcorn, 4 tins of chopped tomatoes and 2 carrots. Big Brother will continue to provide the housemates with their basic supplies.
