Heartbroken pop star Samuel Preston is quitting Britain to get over his spilt from Chantelle Houghton.
The singer will move to America later this month in an attempt to put his 10-month marriage to his Celebrity Big Brother co-star behind him.
Preston, 25, will stay with friends in Philadelphia - near where his granddad lives - but will keep a base in his home town of Brighton.
A close friend of the Ordinary Boys star said: "The past six months have been a rollercoaster for Preston and he feels he needs to have a long, hard think about his future. He's hoping that putting distance between them will give them both a chance to move on."
Preston and Chantelle, 23, have been pictured together several times since announcing the end of their marriage in June. But friends insist there is no chance of a reconciliation between the pair - who met on the Channel 4 show in January last year.
Only two weeks ago Preston was seen kissing a mystery girl in a Brighton nightclub. But the friend added: "He has not met anyone he is serious about."
