Weird Jonty's Idol attack

ODDBALL Jonty Stern launched a bizarre attack on Will Young — with his cuddly toy Monkety Tunkety.
The barmy housemate used the teddy to get wannabe singer friend David Wilder an introduction to the Pop Idol star.

Brazen Jonty, 38, strolled over to Will after spotting him in a cafe and, instead of shaking his hand, went for him with his array of stuffed toys. Amazingly, Will, 26, managed to grin and bear the nutty attack.

David explained: “I was with Jonty in Edinburgh a few years ago.

“We spotted Will Young in a cafe and I asked Jonty if he’d help me with an introduction so I could find out if Will knew who I could get in touch with about my songs. Next minute Jonty was all over him with Monkety Tunkety and his teddies.

“Will took it well, fortunately, and was really friendly and helpful.”

Producers whisked the toys off and set about making Gerry and Jonty guess their whereabouts with cryptic postcards. Gerry beamed: “Freddie’s already been to Greece and Prague.”

But Jonty admitted: “Monkety Tunkety has only been in England.” The housemates warmed up for the task by guessing the location of famous landmarks — but ditzy twin Amanda just was not up to it.

When Carole asked her to identify a city beginning with ‘L’ where men in big hats guard the Crown Jewels, she blustered: “Canada? Africa?”

Told it was in a country beginning with ‘E’ she chirped: “Egypt”. When Jonty asked: “Which country grows a lot of tea and begins with ‘I’?” Amanda came up with: “Ireland? Italy?”
