Shell shock: Caz family at war
From The Sun
CAROLE’S huge family are at loggerheads — with a foster daughter accused of letting her pet SNAIL die.
June Cavanagh is supposed to be looking after Carole’s house, but it is claimed she failed to sort out bills and even let her beloved Giant African land snail pass away.
Now there’s s-hell to pay as Carole’s daughter Ebony says June, 34 — who lived with Carole from the ages of 12 and 15 — has let the whole family down.
Ebony, 27, said: “She is supposed to be looking after Mum’s house, watering her plants, caring for her pet Giant African Land Snail and passing me the bills to pay.
“But the snail has died, the plants are withering away and I’ve hardly received any bills.
“I know my Mum has told other BB housemates she is worried about getting in arrears and losing the house. I don’t consider June my sister, especially after this.
“She has always been treated like one of the family but she has not put my mum’s best interests first during Big Brother.”
Relations between the two have turned increasingly sour and they are now only communicating through text messages.
June says her foster mum, 53, has been there for her during troubled times and treated her as part of the family.
But Ebony is angry that pregnant June and her boyfriend have been taking the BB tickets offered to the family every Friday on eviction night.
She was also horrified that mum-of-three June allowed the Big Brother camera crews into her foster mother’s house to film a piece for the show without consulting the rest of the family.
Ebony said: “June publicly humiliated mum by allowing everyone to see the flat in the mess she had been forced to leave it in when she had to leave in a hurry for the Big Brother house.
“I know when the cameras showed June and her two kids sitting on the sofa my mum would have wondered why we weren’t there. She would have loved to see her granddaughter, my daughter Lucie, or my brother Ashley.
“I have heard from some of the evicted housemates that my mum was in tears because she was so worried that we weren’t bothered about her.”
Ebony, who is caring for Carole’s adopted son Ashley, 18, while she is in the house, said the extended family of cousins and her friends are hurt June has not let them communicate with her.
Even when contestants’ families were asked to draft a “letter from home” to the housemates, Ebony said June penned the whole letter herself.
Ebony said: “When they read the letters out my mum was the only housemate who did not cry and she is an incredibly emotional person.
“I think she was so shocked there was nothing from us. June is just trying to point-score.”
June refused to comment last night, saying: “It is a family matter.”
