Should this be in the news section? (Sorry that sounded like I was being horrid, I just thought I'd point out the news section ).

But yeah, it's terrible. I don't know what could motivate someone to kill an 11 year old.

Yeah I've heard it's gang related too.
Even if it is, it can't be that strong of a gang if he's 11!! The murderer was on a BMX wearing a hoodie - obviously young himself. What possesses someone to think they can kill an 11 year old due to some petty gang-affiliation! Grrr, people annoy me.

That's just tragic. The boy's 11, meaning he was going to start secondary school this September? What a shame.

This is just awful. I have just seen 4 friends talking about Rhys Jones on the news. They were a really nice group of young lads and it was heartbreaking to see them talking so articulately about their friend. They said he never got into fights at school and always had a smile on his face.
Yet Another very sad day for our country.

Another Shooting

Quote:
Man 'shot in face' in the street
A shooting has taken place in Hertfordshire, reportedly leaving several people seriously injured.
Police said they were called to Pixmore Avenue, near Letchworth railway station, shortly before midday and recovered weapons from the scene.

A police spokeswoman said a number of arrests had been made and the area had been cordoned off.

A taxi driver, near the scene, said: "As far as I know a man has been shot in the face three times."

Eyewitness Ellen Rose, told the BBC she understood three shots had been fired following a collision between two cars.

Police forensic experts have been examining a silver Mondeo car, she said.

Thats what they say but this incident proves that guns should be banned altogether in the wrong hands these weapons are dangerous and get into the hands of young children to young to understand the damage they do.

This sounded to me like a respect crime

Perhaps the 11 year old showed some disrespect, giving a wrong look, bumping into someone or something like that.

If anyone gets dissed then they have to pop a cap in that person's ... (you get the picture?)

They are but the sentence for possession is once again determined by the do gooder mentality and is not even close to what sentencing should be for owning a gun not licenced....

Politicians will never learn because they don't expect to be victims of gun crime....It is always somebody else that pays the price for their negligence.....

The costs for being caught in possession should be much much much higher imo.
Gun culture (ANY songs glorifying guns, movies that glorify gun violence (I don't mean things such as... Bourne Identity series or anything, I mean STREET gun violence, things that inspire un-needed violence!) should be banned alltogether or have stricter restrictions.

I am not in favour of banning policies as this gives licence for others to control others without permission. Such a policy should be avoided like the plague as it leads to nothing short of dictatorships.

However proper regulation and restrictions I do agree with. Ultra violent films need to be severley restricted to those 21 and over and under pin protection if on TV. Cinemas shoud insist on birth certificates if need be....Internet however is much harder to control...........

New legislation is imminent regarding the banning of sexual porn violent films or images that fall under the description detailed in a recent consultation from the home office.

Offenders could get up to 5 years in prison for being in possession of such images. just thought I would mention in case you or others are not aware of such laws coming into effect maybe later this year or at least finalised later this year.....

yes I have just watched the 10 oclock news about this and David Cameran was saying that its not down to them to stop this gun crime its down to who ever is causing it I find that it is a horrible feeling for that poor little 11 year old to get shot like that it does need to be sorted out but how as we are saying all along bless his family at this time
