Amy's bloody row with Blake

Hopes of troubled Amy Winehouse recovering from her drink and drug demons were dramatically dashed last night as she was seen covered in cuts and blood screaming in a London street.

The soul singer was pictured wearing blood drenched ballet shoes and deep cuts to her knees after an early morning brawl with husband, Blake Fielder-Civil.

Witnesses say the singer ran screaming from the Sanderson Hotel in Central London at 3.30am yesterday with Blake chasing her through the shopping district.

Blake, who had bloody scars to his neck and face, was yelling her name as Winehouse flagged down a woman in a black Ford Fiesta and jumped in.

Witnesses say she had purple bruises on her neck and swollen knuckles.

Earlier she was seen meeting a female friend outside the hotel, who handed her a small package.

Last night the couple were spotted out at Balans restaurant in London trying to make up.

The evening yet again ended in disaster after a row at the table. Amy left out the back entrance, leaving Blake stranded in Old Compton Street.

The night before, guests at the hotel said Winehouse was seen sprinting down the corridor of the hotel, pursued by her badly bleeding husband.

A guest said: 'Amy was in floods of tears. This guy was screaming at her. She was cowering in the corner and I thought he was going to hit her.

'When the lift door opened, she took across the lobby at a real pace.'

A witness outside on the street said: 'Amy came sprinting down the road. She was in a real state of panic. Blake was running after her, but couldn't catch her up.'

'Amy was so hell-bent on getting away from him that she ran into the middle of the street and flagged down a random car that was full of girls.

'She was saying, “Quickly I have to get in, I have to get away, please help me.'

She was last seen at Charing Cross station buying cigarettes.

A witness was reported as saying: 'You could see she'd been in a fight. Her clothes were bloody and she was covered in scratches and bandages.'

The couple had checked into the £200- a-night hotel on Monday in Central London after quickly quitting a rehabilitation centre in Essex.

A friend of 23-year-old Amy was reported as saying that it took five hours to calm her down and added: 'She was a bloodstained mess. She looked like an extra from a slasher movie.

'All yesterday she was rocking back and forth and wailing that she wants to die.'

US gossip columnist Perez hilton, claimed Winehouse sent him text messages saying she was ok and standing by her man.

The suppossed texts read: 'Blake is the best man in the world. We would never ever harm each other. Take back what you said on the blog. I thought you was my girl. I was cutting myself after he found me in our room about to do drugs with a call girl and rightly said I wasn't good enough for him. I lost it and he saved my life.'

I'll be alright. I need to fight my man's corner for him though.

'For the last time he did not and never has hurt me. Say I told you what happened on your blog. He has such a hard time and he so supportive. Please make amends. Kiss. Amy x'

The disastrous night out comes after a typical rollercoaster week for the singer.

She was nominated for four Mobo awards on Wednesday.

But she was not present to hear the nominations for the prestigious awards announced and doubts remain about her ability to fulfill concerts in October and November.

A spokesman for the star however has put her problems down to 'severe exhaustion'.
