Ziggy's fury at Richard jibe

ZIGGY tried to walk out of the Big Brother house earlier this week after telly host Richard Madeley labelled him a “*******”.

The sensational scenes came during the Big Brother Quiz on Sunday evening — but Channel 4 cut the footage to focus on Chanelle’s return.

A BB mole revealed that just before Chanelle re-entered the house, housemates had to answer pre-recorded questions by video transmission.

The source said: “In one of the questions housemates had to guess who Richard Madeley wanted to win Big Brother.

“After conferring, they thought Richard would choose Liam — but when the video of Richard Madeley was played, he replied, ‘Ziggy, because he’s a *******’.

The comments rocked the former boyband hunk, 26, who was re-united with old flame Chanelle, 19, moments later.

The source added: “The clip clearly affected Ziggy and made him paranoid. The housemates didn’t really know what to make of it — Brian laughed, but then realised Ziggy was upset.

“The other housemates tried to reassure Ziggy by saying Richard had been joking, but the next day he went into the diary room and asked to leave.”

The comments by the outspoken Richard and Judy host, 51, also caused a storm behind the scenes as arguments broke out over whether the clip should be broadcast. The BB source said: “Richard had given permission for it to be shown and producers wanted to play it.

“But they were over-ruled by Channel 4 bosses to avoid negative publicity.

“Everyone thought the clip was hilarious and was the highlight of this year’s show.”

But furious fans bombarded Channel 4’s website to complain about Ziggy being insulted.

Last night, a Channel 4 spokesman posted an apology saying: “I am sorry to hear that you feel the treatment of Ziggy was in some way unfair.”
