Nah, you need a diverse range of characters. All of a certain age group will have the same backgrounds. I agree that the majority should be under 30 but you need some lder people like Ahmed and Derek.

There should be people of all ages and people from all walks of life, as Jack said. Obviously the majority will be under 30 but they should still have different backgrounds and have different personalities etc.

Exactly we need people with different backgrounds who are interesting to watch. Unfortunately Channel 4 regard this as people like Shahbaz, Jonty etc who are different in a "freak" way and I don't really find their personalities interesting enough. As Wasted said, we need people from all walks of life; teachers, lawyers, single mothers, nurses, muslims? We need a cross section of British society. Of course there should still be your students and 19 year olds but I hate it when people like Jonty, Tracey and Carole get through the auditions because of the "novelty factor" when in reality they're pretty boring.
