Apprentice contestant Katie to marry lover

19 September 2007 - Katie Hopkins, who gained notoriety while she was a contestant on The Apprentice, is set to wed her married lover.

The 32-year-old is planning to marry Mark Cross, 43, whom she met while working at the Met Office in Devon, once his divorce is finalised.

After pictures of the two having a passionate encounter in a cornfield were published in 2006, Katie lost her £90,000 brand consulting job.

And earlier this year, Katie caused a stir on BBC reality show The Apprentice by making back-stabbing comments about her competitors and various members of the public.
She also boasted that she had caused the break-up of three separate marriages by seducing the husbands.

During the course of the programme, she had a short relationship with Paul Callaghan, who was also a contestant, which angered Alan Sugar.

Katie and Mark currently live together in a home near Exeter and said they hope to have children together after they tie the knot. Katie already has two young daughters from a previous marriage to Damian McKinney.

A source told the Daily Mail: "Katie doesn't care about anyone but herself. Mark is a bit of an idiot and is completely under the thumb. Whatever she says he agrees to."
