Default BB OZ vs BB US

Only having watched a fairly small amount of either, I am only basing my choice on first impressions. 1st of all I watched the first 3 or so episodes of BB US . Every thing seemed fine at 1st . But after two hours of the typical US approach to TV shows, I couldn't take any more. Its so corny, with the dramatised back round noise and over the top presenter . So I knocked that on the head and went In search of BB OZ. I found it a lot harder to find for some reason, although the sites had links to show a certain episode , a lot of them were out of date. So in the end I compromised and started watching BB OZ from episode 59 I think... I am pleased to say, I found it to be a lot more entertaining and a lot less corny. Even though I'm sure there eviction presenter is trying to mimic Devina.(they do look similar) But all in all I though it was great and would recommend it to any BB UK fan

Those 3 BBs (UK,US,AUS) are completely different. That's what I love by watching them.

I like the format (wouldn't want it to replace ours though) and all, but it isn't right. The background music, the cheesy prresenters.

It doesn't have the same realism BBUK has. It hardly feels like they've been living in the house but just came in to do some key parts.

Haven't seen much of BBAUS so can't comment too much on it but from what I've seen it just seems like a poor version of BBUK.

With BBUSA the format is totally different which is why I enjoy it so much more, the music annoyed me at first but then you just get used to it and it can even be quite funny like this year when the played the church organ music everytime Jameka or Amber went into a mad prayer, or the rock music that played when Dick went on a rant.

Well at the beginning it's weird but you will find it very entertaining.
The only thing I can blame about BBUSA is that we don't have the days, too many drama music. Sometimes it's worse than a soap.

I love BBAU, even though it has a reputation for ripping over other versions of the show. BBUS feels as if its almost staged, and I hate the idea of not having an eviction crowd and the format is rubbish.

If you even watched more than one week of the show you would easily adapt. Who wants to watch people sit around, discuss nothing, and then have one thing to do later on. In BBUS they cut out all the boring parts, and creates a story using the characters and moments within the house. The only live show is for the eviction, and had they had a live audience outside like they did in BB1 it could make interferenece with the game more plausable to happen, someone could yell out a valuable peice of information while the houseguest was leaving, not to mention SEQUESTER. It's impossible to have a live audience with our format, and that's a good thing.

I just can't adapt to BB US, I've tryed and failed, and who says the audience has to be right next to the house. It could be like BBAU, where the audience is half a kilometer away.

Yeah but they could shout something to the evicted housemate still and if that evicted housemate goes to the Jury and has to vote on the winner then he/she will have extra information which may effect his/her vote.

Just because you like it, doesn't mean everyone else has to.

I bet if you lived in the UK you'd prefer the UK's version.

The US version is no where near Reality TV and it isn't Big Brother (its an entirely different show!) Atleast in the UK they don't bleep out swearing and the whole thing is over-edited with added on music and stupid bloody montages!

I agree Cujo, I love BBUSA but sometimes I feel that I watch a soap with some soap music, it seems not to be real. I still love it too.

I watched a bit of BBAus and it seems quite good, BBUS I saw some clips, and it very loud and just looks fake with over the top argument and shouting.

The BBUS background music gets on my nerve. I swear to god I heard the pre-intro BBUS music (when they're recapping the week) on our version of "Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares"

I also feel like they're trying to manipulate a situation very easily by choosing a background music. In BBUS, it's obvious that the producers want some characters to be perceived in some ways, but it doesn't really matter to us unless it affects our America's Player choice.

BBAU is a poor mans BBUK, but thats why we love it. Part of the fun is seeing how the producers will ruin what could be a brilliant twist. Plus, as much as I despise her, it always fun to see what Gretel (host) dresses up as every week. To be fair to BBAU though they do try thier best and the have had some brilliant twists in the past. They were the first BB to have two houses, the first to have a double eviction and they introduced the points nomination system & save/evict voting (which is now used in many countries around the world). They also had the fines system for series 5/6 were for every time a housemate broke a ruke $5,000 would be deducted from the $1,000,000 prize fund.

BBUS always has the potential to be brilliant, but I can't say much for any of the winners. BB8US was brilliant to start off with but when that bully came to light it just got worse and worse as nothing was done to stop him. He bullied four women. He offended them, insulted them, did his best to make them feel like scum, and on one occasion physically hurt one of them. He is a bully and he is down right scum of the earth.

For that reason, I'd say BBAU is better then BBUS.

That is a great post and I agree with everything you have said. I love the kitsch-ness of it.
I didn't realise BB came up with all of those things I mean it's notorious for copying but all in all it's come up with heaps of things that are used all around the world.
