Trafalgar Square to host games carnival

The London Games Festival 'Be the One' carnival is to kick off with a host of celebrities on Wednesday evening, as Electronic Arts heads up the Trafalgar Square event.

The games firm will host the three-day carnival as part of the London Games Festival, inviting the public to try out a range of its Christmas titles including FIFA 08, The Simpsons, Need For Speed, Rock Band and more.

Taking place at the foot of Nelson's Column, gamers will have the chance to take part in a series of live challenges, alongside other players and celebrity guests from the worlds of showbiz, music, entertainment and sport.

"All eyes will be on London this week as we celebrate the enormous creativity and innovation of the interactive entertainment industry," said Keith Ramsdale, vice president and country manager of EA UK. "EA's event at London Games Festival will give everyone the chance to experience gaming in an exhilarating new way that can be enjoyed by all the family."

The carnival, which will begin at 6pm, will also feature live music performances and exclusive never-before-seen games content.
