This guy is awesome check out his site for advice about training

http://www.cesarmillaninc.com/

Also you need to take your dog for a health check and vaccinations, they get 2 sets of injections before they are allowed to be walked outside. This is to protect them from distempa, parvo virus and not sure what else!

You can get puppy house training pads now to help them work towards peeing outside.

Lots of love and cuddles is what a dog needs along with firm boundaries and training.

You're best off calling him a two syllable name, ending with ie, or y. They respond best to names like that, e.g Charlie, Sooty, Rosie, etc.

LoL we keep cats and dogs together and we do have the occasional problem. But it's normally ok.

I've got a dalmation called Rosie, and once my cat Polly had kittens, and then Rosie started looking after them and then she'd growl whenever the mother cat came anywhere near them. It ended up in a full blown fight. But all in all, we don't have too many problems.

It may take a bit of training your dog to get him completely on board with the cats but it depends what type of dog he/she is.

I think it will take time. Probably after a few months they will be able to behave together without your supervision.

But at the start I'd keep an eye on them and then assess the situation.

They may get on fine, or they may not, but there's no reason why you can't train them to tolerate each other.

But it's hard to tell right now.

I hate dogs, infact I loathe them (pets on a whole) but we have a staff and he is absolutely harmless, really daft, not aggresive in the slightest and rarely barks.

He's not even that smelly either.

I wouldnt get into the habit of letting it sleep on your bed, if you must have it in the bedroom set aside a bed on the floor for it. Even the littlest of dogs take up A LOT of bed, I know from experience!

As for the cats, the puppy will quickly get used to it being there and the pup will quickly realise that the cats are the boss of it lol.

Staffs are lovely dogs, every dog is lovely its owners that are rubbish and let their dogs take control and become aggressive.

i bathed my dog on the first day! i was so happy to finally have one, the more unusual things u do to them at an early age you will get more of an advantage later on

in the first week it's best to train them to sit and come, also take them on a bus and things like that,

for instance, my dog's a complete whimp and everything i try to introduce him to now he refuses to co operate with lol
but he's fine with buses, cars, the street, new people and things like that cause i introduced them to him straight away

good luck with your dog and try not to think of names before u see the dog cause sometimes the name just comes to you
