Default Christmas coming too early now??

Before you guys ask I love christmas. But am i the only one who thinks it comes a bit too early?? the adverts seem to start at the middle of October and are increasing by the day.

I am already seeing Christmas trees fgs. Plus some places have already switched on there lights and its about 50-60 days yet.

So does anyone else think christmas is starting too early??

I love christmas and the build up but i think it is "building up" way too early.

The decorations are up in the town where i live, everything xmassy is out for sale, it just makes christmas drag more.
I wish everything would have started later, then xmas would have come around quicker but it seems to be going slow.

Yay! I'm glad that all the decorations are out!

It is November... it's around the time when I begin to take Christmas seriously... If you had asked me this a month ago I would probably have agreed

It's been like this for quite a while =]
They've started christmas too early as far back as I can remember.

Though maybe it's only in the past 5-10 years or so they've started things in October, im not sure.

I don't mind people advertising christmas early, as even though it's just so companies can make more money, it reminds everyone christmas isn't too far away and usually cheers people up.

Yeah, seems to have come really quickly.
But I ain't complaining, I love christmas!
But I hate how it's so dark at like 4pm, whereas a few weeks ago it still would've been bright and sunny =[ it always makes me think it's later than it actually is xDD

To be fair , a few crazy neighbours and a few money hungry corporations lay the base work in October , but most stuff is only starting to kick into gear now. Which is fine by me. I consider November to be part of Christmas.

I love christmas but every year it feels the bulid up comes to early.

In newcastle we have a fenwicks window with a story of christmas, it's nice and everyone likes to look at it every year. Anyway last year it was put up on November 5th I remember as I was in town that day this year it came up on the 30th on october, so it proves it's getting earlier...

It'll be funny if one day we all go mad and on boxing day just a day after christmas day we'll be buliding up for the next one.

Yeah i think November is good as well. But i still think having adverts in October is a bit strange.

Like i said i have also seen some decorations up already and it gets you excited for nothing.

I look at it like this:

People who class Christmas as mainly all about the DAY itself, and receiving presents, will often find it annoying when Christmas is flaunted in their faces two months before, because they can't wait for the day to come.

People who class christmas as more about the excitement, looking forward to it, decorations, christmas tree's, calendars, feeling that christmas is approaching and everyone being in a happier mood...will usually welcome things starting early.

If you think Christmas is about both of these things, you're probably not too fussed either way =]

365 days in a year...
Christmas is a few days before the end of the year.

Around the 300 mark, people are starting to advertise christmas and put up decorations around towns etc.

If you look at it like that, it's not really all that early is it?
The large majority of the year, the 300 days have finally gone by, and we're on the last few before Christmas around mid/end October time..

The thing is the longer Christmas decorations are out the less exciting Christmas is because you are used to seeing decorations and trees. They should put them up on about December 1st at the earliest so then it's really exciting.
