X Factor Leon Says Paolo's Perfect
X FACTOR star Leon Jackson has revealed his musical inspiration - Scots singer Paolo Nutini.

The 18-year-old says the Paisley star's success has given him the confidence to keep going.

Leon, of Whitburn, West Lothian, said: "He is my inspiration. Doing a duet with him would be a dream come true as he is my musical hero and I have all his albums.

Likeme he is a lad from Scotland who has followed his musical dream to London and done well.

"He has such a unique voice. That he has come from nowhere and succeeded. He has given me the confidence to keep going."

A spokeswomen for the award-winning star said: "Paolo is just back from working in the States and has not had a chance to see any of the X Factor. But he will think it is really sweet that he has been an inspiration to a young Scots singer and I'm sure would wish him all the best."

Last night, the finalists had to pick a 21st century song and Leon belted out the Toploader classic Dancing In The Moonlight.

You could tell from Leon’s performance last night that he tried his best to take comments on board, e.g. that he looked scared on stage. He went the opposite way though and went overboard, looking as if he was trying far too hard. His vocals seem to have improved a little. But I think him and Dannii were a bit overambitious with the song choice. He’s lucky he’s still in the competition, because he still has a real chance to prove himself.

At any rate, Paolo Nutini’s a cool role model to have.
