Ziggy not setting world a-light

WHEN he was going out with Chanelle Hayes, former Big Brother housemate ZIGGY LICHMAN graced the covers of celebrity magazines and was a regular on the A-list club circuit.

But it looks like his star has finally faded - after being signed up to turn on the Christmas lights in a tiny Essex town, packed with charity shops and takeaways.

While London's Oxford Street got X Factor winner Leona Lewis to flick their switch, Barkingside has turned to Ziggy to add some Christmas colour to their high street.

Organisers say they have arranged for him to be joined by clowns, jugglers and Santa Claus on Friday during the event.

But I wonder if they tried Barkingside's most famous reality resident - 2006 X Factor reject Robert Allen - before giving Ziggy a jingle bell?
