[Romantic Old Bird]

I spent most of this evening watching a programme combining the auditions from New York and Atlanta.

Same old deluded tone deaf warblers (only made scarier by a large dose of American self-belief), same old nasal Celine Dion wannabes, occasional good voices. Cringeworthy and heart-rending moments..........

No matter what, and even hosted by the ghastly
Ryan Seacrest, it's still compulsive viewing!

I watched some of this as well ROB, lets hope the series develops into a better one than the dismal effort we have just suffered over here.

There were one or two quite good auditions, but as usual they show mostly the rubbish and there was some rubbish there. Loved the bit when the judges just got up and walked out on some of them. LOL

Still got to be better than our last version.

I thought Pop Idol was pretty good this year.

After watching last night's episodes finishing up in Hawaii - once again I was amazed at the number of people who go on there to be literally humiliated. But then perhaps they dont mind how idiotic they look at least they have been on tv.

I watched this for the first time.

Most of the singers they showed forgot the words to the songs.

Simon Cowell called it the worst ever audition he has judged.

I was quite amazed that after being told that they must learn the words, half of them just went off to bed and thought they could 'la la la' through the songs and get through.

Having said that there are some very good singers there.
