Default Now Cerys gets love letter from Marc

Quote:
Now Cerys gets love letter from Marc
The I'm A Celebrity love triangle took another twist yesterday when banished EastEnders actor Marc Bannerman sent a love letter to singer Cerys Matthews back in the jungle.

Despite heading home to a furious live-in girlfriend - who witnessed Bannerman sharing a hammock with Matthews and talking about forbidden fruit - he has told Matthews he'd like to meet her again.

Bannerman's letter, read out on air, said: "Keep singing songbird, you are doing amazing and I am rooting for you. "Your sister Amanda and the kids are all well and are also rooting for you.

"There are many problems in London and I have had to go back to try to sort them out but I may well return to greet you when you come out, if that is your wish, Marc."

Recently divorced Cerys, 32, a mother of two, looked stunned and had to re-read the letter.

When they were both still in the show Bannerman and Matthews were seen kissing in a hammock, staring at stars, and singing songs to one another, all in front of an audience of four million - including Bannerman's girlfriend, actress Sarah Matravers.

She had flown to Australia to support her partner only to turn tail 48 hours later, saying she was being "tortured" by his obvious fondness for the Welsh pop singer.

And Bannerman's jungle antics clearly didn't endear him to the viewers either – he was the first celebrity voted out.

The letter emerged after each celebrity was rewarded with a note from home for successfully completing a challenge.

But Cerys's was rather more personal than the others and, responding to the letter, she said she had feelings for Marc and wanted him to return.

Speaking in the Bush Telegraph - the show's 'confession box', she said: "We didn't intend for this to happen.

"We were just friends and then we started thinking more than that.

"I knew that he had a girlfriend. He didn't want to hurt this girlfriend and we haven't had a chance to talk about it really.

"We were just going to wait and see what it felt like when we got back home when the person involved could talk with Marc and try and do things with as little hurt as possible.

"Now I can be honest and say I did have feelings.

"And now I've got this letter and he knows it's going be read out. He's like telling me it's going to be OK.

"I'd like him to come out so we can talk about this as quickly as possible."

She added: "I don't want to make any more mess than maybe I have already made.

"My kids are here and I don't want mess. We've been through a lot you know.

"I will send a message to Marc to say I'd definitely like him to come out."

Cerys knows her fellow campers, such as panto actor Christopher Biggins and supermodel Janice Dickinson, are talking about the romance and she said: "Denying the relationship makes me look false and I'm not false."
