'I may be an ex X Factor diva, but I'll keep singing' Booted-off Bev says she has no hard feelings after shock eviction
The Luton singing star whose talent captivated the country has vowed to do whatever it takes to keep her dream of stardom alive.
Teacher Beverley Trotman was dumped off The X Factor talent show as the ITV talent trawl got down to the final five.
The 38-year-old's exit came after the four judges reached a deadlock for the first time ever and the public were given the casting vote to save her or girl band Hope.
Programme bosses had to field a flurry of protests in the wake of the decision, from angry fans who said Beverley's performance on the night was far better than her young rivals.
But she insisted that she didn't blame any of the judges, not even Sharon Osbourne, who had the last vote and saved Hope by levelling the votes at two each.
She said: "I could never blame Sharon, because Sharon from week one has always been behind me. She did what she felt she needed to do."
Speaking at a press conference, Mrs Trotman claimed she was taking the shock better than her mentor Louis Walsh.
"He's really gutted, but I'm cool, I've had a really great time, I've had a good opportunity.
"I've sung great songs for the past six weeks and I think I've sung them really well.
"Every megastar that's come onto the show, when they've been asked who was your favourite, they've all said my name. I can't ask for more than that."
The mother-of-two sang Mariah Carey's Without You in last night's show, but put her exit down to the public voting - and her age.
"When I came into it, I knew that it is geared to the younger people," she said.
Bev predicted Rhydian, Leon and Hope would all get into the final, and vowed that her defeat would not stop her singing stardom dreams.
"I don't know what the path will be, but I'm ready to do anything," she said. "I feel I've really grown in this competition.
"I've got a lot to offer and the theatre is one option, maybe a record deal is another option, but these are all things that I'm happy to look at."
