Default Jungle celebs\' brush with a deadly Funnel Web spider

Jungle celebs' brush with a deadly Funnel Web spider
I'm a Celebrity..Get me out of here! jungle contestants had a dangerous encounter with a spider that can kill within an hour.

The black Funnel Web spider was spotted by former Five band member "J" Brown crawling around under Janice Dickinson's bed.

A hysterical Dickinson screamed "Get it, get it, get it" before Brown scooped it into a glass and took it to the Bush Telegraph.

Reflecting on the excitement, Dickinson said of the spider: "It was making its way towards my bed, the last thing I need is a huge spider bite on my arse."

While Hollyoaks star Gemma Atkinson declared Brown "a hero" and Panto actor Christopher Biggins said he was "very brave", Brown elevated himself to "superhero status".

Brown said: "I think it's Peter Parker who is Spiderman, if so it may be now 'J' Brown."

"J" may be a superhero, but his spelling skills leave much to be desired as he was the only camper not to spell six words correctly to win a chocolate brownie following a spelling bee.

He had thought this was one game when he would excel - but he ended up the loser after Cerys cheated on his behalf.

"J" said: "I'm very good at spelling, I've got a good command of the English language it's one of my favourite things on the planet.

"I write songs, I write poetry all the time, I play around with words, words are one of my favourite things."

His test words were "liaison" which he spelled liason, "battalion" which he spelled battallion, "broccoli" which he thought was brocolli and "illiterate" which he said only had one l.

Getting really annoyed with himself for getting them wrong, "J" said: "My parents are going to go insane at me, I've left my brain in the woods.

"It's a good job my old man's not watching this or he'll greet me over the bridge with a slap across the teeth.

"I can't believe how dire I did at that. That has been the worst moment in the camp so far."

However, he wasn't the only one to find the task difficult as other contestants also struggled with the game.

Janice claimed she kept dictionaries in the bathrooms all over her house and tried to learn ten new words a day but managed to spell pretentious "pretenchish".

Gemma put an "e" at the end of "potato" adding in her defence that she called them "spuds" at home.

The treats came as a relief to the hungry campers who had little to eat after Cerys only managed to win two meals in her Bushtucker Trial.

"Dam Vines" - a Tarzan and Jane like task - involved swinging from one vine to another across a lake and collecting stars along the way in just seven minutes.

If she fell off, Cerys was warned that she would have to go back to the beginning.

Before she agreed to do the trial, presenter Dec warned her: "We haven't put anything in the water, so the only things in there are whatever lives there."

Cerys said: "Water snakes? Leeches? Crayfish?"

Dec replied: "Could be, yes."

Cerys still decided to do the trial and started off quite well, moving quickly between the vines and collecting the first two stars.

But she was soon tired and slipped off one of the vines into the water.

She started again and made her way to the third star but Ant warned her that time was running out and she had to allow some time to get back in the water and transfer her stars into a basket.

Cerys came very close to getting a third star but couldn't quite reach and eventually had to jump give up.

Afterwards she said: "We have got no rice left and the beans are almost inedible. They're all going to be so upset.

"I'm gutted, I really wanted to do well."
