Default Bumping Old Threads

Now whilst I understand it's sometimes fun to bump a really old thread for nostalgic value, such as the old Bar/Café ones - there's been loads of irrelevant BB8 threads (such as "EMILY IS A RACIST!" and "Billy: I was axed to save Charley") 'bumped' lately (ie. someone posting in a dead thread)

Whilst little can be done about it; it's incredibly annoying since it's, more often than not, no longer relevant and it's just to boost post counts, I think.

Then again - I might just be acting a bit moody, and why shouldn't they be able to post?

I find it really annoying when other members do that. There was even a tread from 2004 bumped last month about a 'New site design.'

I find that really annoying, its like theres no reason to bump it, the old café ones, maybe there is a reason for them but threads like "Ziggys fan club" for example don't need re-bumping imho.

I agree there.
Threads that more resolve around 'forum members' are ok to bump, but I think unrelevant BB threads are not annoying!

YOU'RE SUCH A MOODY SO AND SO SHAUN! ^_^

Nah, I see where you're coming from...

On the one hand, I can understand newer members who never got the chance to talk about their opinions on things that went on a long time ago, wanting the opportunity to say something.

But everyone else I think falls into the "boosting post count" category.

I guess it depends on the post to be fair. If it's something rather interesting/insightful then at least they contributed positively, if it's just "Oh yea I don't like Emily" then it's a waste of everyone's time.

I didn't even notice.

A couple of weeks back a TiBB BB1 thread was bumped for an argument, which was pretty disrespectful.

I can see where your coming from Shaun. That Emily thread was only going to cause an argument. Plus, it was started by that nutjob Amy21.

I bumped a thread from 2003 today, but it was a general chat one that the new crowd could add their thoughts to and it was in response to the time machine thread, but some threads should be locked, as there is now no point as an event has now passed.

I think your being a bit moody lmao. Other people can post there if you want, if no-one replies then it will fall back down, its even more annoying, when people moan about it in the thread

I think some threads are relevant to be bumped like in Chat and Games, but old Big Brother threads need to stay old and 'lost'. Maybe threads before a certain date should be locked to preserve them for TiBB's history.

Yep I do agree (it haven't happened for ages lol). I love some old threads being brought back, I can't see the problem. If people don't want to reply then they don't, they aren't supposed to be concerned by everything.
