Simon openly criticised Hope on Saturday but Same Difference, who seem to do the same thing every week, somehow managed to escape his anger. Simon is usually very quick to pick up on one trick ponies so,
Do you think that Simon favoured Same Difference over Hope? |

I think so... perhaps he just sees an opportunity to exploit the Disney/High School Musical/Hairspray market. They'd be more commercially successful, I think.

I don't think so, really. Saturday was the only time he's ever criticised them, but on every other show he's supported them and evidently wanted them to get the votes. I think by last week he realised that Hope weren't going to win him the competition, and he knows SD were his best chance of winning, so maybe that's why he gave SD that little bit of extra praise.
I don't think he favoured one over the other though. It was clear he wanted Hope to do very well, and he even said they were the best group the X Factor has ever had. If anything, it was probably the other way around until the previous show. |

I think he's losing his touch. He should have put W4 through from the outset. He passed on the last two winners of American Idol at the audition stage. He seems to have lost his ability to spot talent.

No, I think it was very clear that he favoured Hope over SD. Both himself & Louis wanted to save FutureProof & Hope for as long as possible.

You mean did.
He's never really criticized SD, maybe because they either impress him each week, or he just sees huge potential in them. |

Simon is very quick to criticise for the slightest reason. I've heard him say on American Idol that he enjoy's being mean to the contestants. Do you think that Same Differences performances have been so stunning that he has not had anything to criticise? I'm not so sure. Also, their act seems to be the same every week. He should have mentioned something about that by now. |

No, I think he treated them both the same. It's jist Hope were in the bottom 2 so many times, where's Same Difference have never been in the botton two.

I don't know if he treated them any different but certainly would have found it easier working with Same Difference than Hope, at least he wouldn't have had any of the tantrums to deal with from them.

I don't think favoured is the right word, because he certainly seemed to like both acts equally, but I think he had high expectations of both acts, and Hope just failed to meet his expectations a few times - so it was more noticeable that he was criticising them.

To begin with I believe he actually wanted Hope to win but as they began to be shown as a less popular act he veered more towards praising Same Difference but I feel most of the time he treated them on the same level.
He'd be slating Same Difference nearly as much as the Maccy D bro's if they were in another category but he's obviously biased towards his own acts.I don't think he's been in the right as much as normal this series either. |

Yeah he did because he new SD actually has a chance to win and hope had no chance in hell of winning. Plus SD are very popular never been in the bottom 2 and Hope have been in the bottom 4 times, so i think simon really just gave up.

We're locked on 8 all.
I agree with the people who say that Simon expected more from Hope, so in the end, when it turned out that Same Difference were more popular he decided to start criticising Hope. Also, if SD were not in his category he'd slaughter them every week. I almost forgot how awful he was to the McDonald Brothers last year. |

I think it was more of the other way round but I think he would have voted Hope off rather than SD becuase he thinks there more popular with the public, due to the fact Hope were in the bottom 2 acts several times.
I honestly think that If SD had a different mentor then he would be slagging them off every week and have the exact same opinion on them as Louis who is right-there a joke! |
