The seventh series of I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! came to a close on Friday, November 30, with 8.2 million viewers tuning in to watch pantomime veteran Christopher Biggins crowned king of the jungle.

I'm a Celebrity achieved a 36% share of the audience, easily winning the timeslot from 9pm to 10.30pm, according to unofficial overnights.

However, it was down significantly from the December 2006 finale, which attracted 9.5 million viewers and a 42% share when former Busted singer Matt Willis won.

I'm a Celebrity went head to head with BBC1's Have I Got News For You, which picked up 5.3 million viewers and a 22% share from 9pm, followed by The Armstrong & Miller Show with 3.7 million and 16% at 9.30pm, and the network's 10pm news, with 3.6 million and 16%.

Over on Channel 4, Ugly Betty dropped to 1.7 million viewers and a 7% share for the hour from 8.30pm.

The previous week, a guest appearance from Victoria Beckham boosted viewing figures to 2.1 million viewers and a 9% share.

Ugly Betty was followed from 9.30pm to 10.10pm by US sitcom My Name is Earl, which drew 1.1 million viewers and a 5% share for Channel 4.

The Tudors, on BBC2 from 9pm to 9.50pm, held its audience of 2.2 million viewers and a 9% share.

On Channel Five, repeats of NCIS at 9pm and Law & Order at 10pm drew audiences of 1.4 million and 1.1 million viewers respectively, both with a 6% share.

EastEnders drew 9.2 million viewers and a 41% share for BBC1 for the half hour from 8pm, followed by Green Green Grass with 6 million and 27% from 8.30pm.

On ITV1, an episode of Tonight on historic houses left to decay pulled in 2.8 million viewers and a 13% share from 8pm, followed by All New Airline with 4.1 million and 18% at 8.30pm.

Gardening shows dominated the hour from 8pm for BBC2, with A Passion for Plants bringing in 2.2 million viewers and a 10% share, and Gardeners' World reaching 2.6 million and 11%.

This gardening double bill outperformed property show A Place in the Sun on Channel 4, with 1.3 million viewers and a 6% share in the 8pm hour.

The World's Strongest Man Super Series pulled in 1.2 million viewers and a 5% share for Five from 8pm.

Earlier in the evening, Strictly Come Dancing on BBC2 reached an audience of 2.4 million viewers and a 12% share for the half hour from 6.30pm.

On ITV1 Emmerdale drew 7.6 million viewers and a 37% share from 7pm and Coronation Street attracted 10 million and 46% from 7.30pm.

8.2 is a bit low for an IMAC final.
