I've finally had a chance to write it!(Sorry about the longness!)
There are great days; amazing days and days so unbelievably incredible you’ll remember them for the rest of your life. This was definitely the latter. After 9 months of waiting and a few stressful weeks worrying about my tickets I was finally going to my first Take That concert! I arrived at the arena in a state of hysteria. I was squeaking, screaming ‘Oh my God!’ and proclaiming that I was going to faint/puke/die every 5 seconds. My mum and I hadn’t even entered the arena at the point! Once we had entered I spend a shameful amount of money on merchandise and we grabbed a bite to eat. The doors opened at 6.30 and we went up some very steep escalators to get to our seats in Block 407, Row R-‘up in the Gods!’ But I was too happy to be there at all to care about where the seats were! First support act on after checking my programme I found was called ‘The Lovely Laura’-the same name as me! I was very happy about that and loved when Mark later thanked her and I was like ‘Oh my god Mark said my name!’ She did really well and her songs were beautiful! Sophie-Ellis Bextor was next. She was pretty good; I especially loved her chats with the crowd, doing the poll of the sexes! My fav song of hers was probably ‘Murder on the Dance floor’ as everyone was singing along! Once she had finished there was a 20 minute gap and then it was time! On the screen appeared many swirling colourful objects, swirling about the universe. This soon came to the world with the boys ruling it. And suddenly there they were on the stage singing ‘Reach Out’ so powerfully! To be honest the first few songs are a bit of a blur because I was in such a daze! Same goes for my photos at this point! Nothing but pretty colors! ‘It Only Takes A Minute’ followed after with all guys getting lapdances from some very lucky girls! The poledancing was fabulous! Once some songs were under their belts the guys started to chat with us. Jason was very nice to remind us that they weren’t chauvinist pigs! Honest! I remember Howard yelling out loads of football teams and me being confused at which to cheer and which to boo! It certainly was a ‘Beautiful World’ next as Howard took over the reins and sang the album title song! T’was magnificent! ‘Patience’ was surreal, as after listening to it so many times it was great to see it live! And hearing 20,000 sing ‘I.i,iiiiiiii’ so together was brill! Mark was next! The one I’d been waiting for! He sang ‘Hold On’ beautifully, my favourite line was ‘Baby it’s alright’, it was all gravelly- like. SWOON! The B-Stage suddenly illuminated and the voice of the Lloyd Webb flooded through the arena as the intro to the spectacular of the night-‘Relight my Fire!’ The guys looked hot hot hot and must have been so themselves when they set themselves on fire! That was wow. The calm following the storm was ‘I’d Wait For Life’. It sounded so sad live! Loved the video in the background. Our boys in water is always a good thing! One of my favourite songs was ‘Rule The World’ which was just out of this world! The stardust opening, the stars, the lasers the song itself! When the guys walked over to the B-Stage I screamed with joy! I was finally able to see them up close! The next song was magical (excuse the cliché). ‘Could it be Magic’ started so simple and evolved with girls on large red hoops hovering around a giant glitterball suspended in the air whilst throwing confetti. It was breath-taking. Next we had a little sing-along with the undisputed classis ‘Do What Ya Like’ and it was time for swaying with a snippet of ‘A Million Love Songs’. The main sing-along though was for the next song-the ultimate classic ‘Back For Good’ which had a uproaring response from the crowd! The guys sang fantastically as well of course! When Mark asked us what the name of their second album was I thought it was a little pop quiz! When they started singing I was like ‘OH!’ I felt so blonde! ‘Everything Changes’ was full of fun but it was the guy’s last song on the B-Stage! They went back through the crowd and I was so jealous of the people on the crowd at that point! I loved when Gaz, How and Jay were all back safely on the stage and Mark was still in the crowd and them 3 were like ‘Come on already!’ Was funny! JASON TIME! ‘Wooden Boat’ was perfect, sung beautifully by Jason. I felt emotional during it, it’s a gorgeous song. It was Jays time for a banter after his song and I loved when he went ‘OI come back from the bar I have something to tell you!’ and then led into ‘Give Good Feeling!’ 5 words sum up that song- The Floor-OH DEAR LORD! That wonderful performance was preceded by ‘Sure’ which to honest I can’t really remember! I was still thinking about Give Good Feeling! Lloyd appeared back on stage and pulled out a screen which the guys then appeared from. The screen effects added great dynamic to the show. The running-Oh my God! But the best bit of course was of all us doing the hand-claps. It was amazing to see all those hands in the air. My favourite Take That song was next! ‘Shine’ complete with stomping, piano-jumping and shiny shirts was astounding! I adored it! All good things must come to an end and ‘Pray’ finished it all off. It seemed to go so quick, one moment they were at podiums and next they were doing the ‘Pray’ dance (which rocked by the way). My favourite part of this song was when Gaz and Mark were at the mic together. It reminds me of ‘An Audience With’ a year ago now when I was just a new fan. The entire show was incredible. Best of all though was the atmosphere- us 20,000 Thatters singing every single word of every single song which we knew off by heart and those 4 guys on stage who created the magical music for us. Music which touches each fans heart and soul. It was 2 hours of pure joy and wonder. A night I’ll ‘Never Forget’. I'll put pics up soon ![]() |
