WELSH fans of The X Factor may have been outraged when singer Rhydian Roberts, pictured, failed to win the crown, but that hasn’t stopped viewers of S4C’s youth magazine series Uned 5 voting the show the Best Reality TV Programme of 2007.

Every year, Uned 5 viewers vote for their favourite celebrities across a range of categories – from soap and pop to film and sport.

Among the other winners are Chris Moyles (Best Radio 1 Presenter), Steven Gerrard (Best Footballer) and Kaiser Chiefs (Best English Language Band).

X Factor judge Dannii Minogue, whose mother is from Maesteg, will accept the award on behalf of the ITV1 talent show, in a specially recorded link that can be seen on Uned 5 today .

Ospreys fly half James Hook takes the award for Best Sports Personality from Wales 2007.

Another rugby player, Mike Phillips, is named the Welsh Hunk 2007, and Sarra Elgan, one of the presenters of music show Bandit, grabs the award for Welsh Babe 2007.

The year also saw Welsh footballer Ryan Giggs decide to hang up his international boots after 16 years playing for his country. To commemorate this achievement, Giggs will be presented with a special award for his contribution to Welsh football.

The other winners include: Best Welsh Language Band: Frizbee; Best Live Welsh Language Band: Gwibdaith Hen Frân; Best Welsh Language Presenter: Eleri Siôn; Best Welsh Language Drama Series: Rownd a Rownd; Best Welsh Language Actor: Gwion Tegid; Best Welsh Language Actress: Ffion Llwyd; Best Male Artist: Euros Childs; Best Welsh Language TV Programme: Jonathan and Best Baddie: Jack P Shepherd (David Platt in Coronation Street).

Uned 5 is on S4C today at 4.05pm.
