Default Grand National

Just wondered did anyone else win on this year's grand national? I did my usual trick of sticking a pin in the list of runners and actually came up with what turned out to be the winner!!!!

Being the big gambler that I am I got OH to put a whole £1 on for me. Still I got enough in winnings to pay for a pub meal on Saturday night.

I had £3.50 e/w on Monty's Pass - which came 4th

Also had £6.50 to win on Hedgehunter - BUT HE FELL AT THE LAST FENCE

Poor Hedgehunter I felt sorry for him he was shattered! I'm glad he is ok though I thought the worse when he stayed down after falling at the last

I was asked if I wanted to join some kind of "book" on this awful race.

I told him that some people object to this race on the grounds that a number of horses are killed each year in this race.

I heard that no horse died this year, and that is considered a remarkable occurance, rather than the other way around.

Is it really right to put on this spectacle which is so dangerous to our equine friends. I suppose they will not do anything about it until a human dies
