That is the most scary thing i've ever seen. Love the beat in the background but the singing is 100% terrible.

the aftermath of super saturday

Eight national finals on one night... What are the odds for ending up with some good old controversy, and some steamy gossip? Eurovision.tv looked into the most juicy stories...
Leading story across Europe is the victory of Dustin the Turkey in Ireland. What is "the last option for Irish success at the contest" for one, is a "terrible disgrace for the other, serious competitors in the Irish national final" for others. In an interview with the fan site Esctoday.com, former Eurovision Song Contest winner and jury member Dana, said: "I think if we treat the Eurovision Song Contest as a joke, we should pull out. Otherwise it's disrespectful to the many countries who take this seriously and to whom winning the competition means a great deal". She also proposed an alternative way of selecting Ireland's Eurovision Song Contest entry.Earlier, she already said that she "doesn't blame the turkey," but that she "does blame the turkey's who voted for it." Press agency Reuters described Dustin as an "unlikely ambassador for Ireland's rich musical tradition."

Meanwhile, on the other side of Europe, controversy striked the Romanian selection once again. Plagued by several pull-outs and disqualifications, the writers of the winning song face allegations of plagiarism! According to fan site Eurovisionary.com, the Romanian broadcaster composed a committee to investigate the allegations. Nico & Vlad Mirita performing Pe-o Margine De Lume won the competition, gaining 271 points altogether.

No Eurovision Song Contest without gossip, rumours and a scandal each now and then. Fortunately, it wasn't all about the scandals this weekend. For example in Croatia, where Kraljevi Ulice finally won the national selection after several attempts over the past years, and in Iceland, where top favorite Euroband won the ticket to Belgrade. This weekend also brought the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest a wide variety of music styles, from a classic ballad in Poland to traditional europop in Iceland, and from turkey-flavoured disco sounds in Ireland to DJ-mixed dance from Bulgaria.

With nearly half of the 43 participating countries left to pick their entries for the 53rd Eurovision Song Contest, there is not even the slightest chance of predicting possible winners yet.

i was thinking about dustin last nignt, don't get me wrong he is a great perfomer and that was a great perfomance!!! but think, if he was in the X Factor final and won against leona becuase he was funny and a great perfomer, its not right is it. there will be some fantastic singers that can perfomer really really well in the ESC and i dont think its fair!

ireland is much better than that! but i still love dustin and i love the song! he just cannot sing to save his baby chicks

but may i also add eurovision isen't fair! so good luck dustin! i just thought you can do much much better than a turkey!! thats almost saying theres no other talent in ireland so were sending a turkey! but the thing is theres FANTASTIC TALENT IN IRELAND SEND SOMEOE TALENTED!

but apart from that i love him!

Eurovision.tv to stream Greek national final!!!!

im really happy about this because my mum has her soap on another channel at the same time!!!

Eurovision.tv's esctv will stream the Greek national final for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest live online, in cooperation with broadcaster ERT. Tomorrow night, three artists will compete for the Greek ticket to Belgrade.
The show will be hosted by Betty and Mathilde Maggira.
The Greeks will follow the same format as last year, featuring three artists. Chryspa, Kalomoira Saranti and Kostas Martakis will compete for the ticket to Belgrade. The winner will be decided by a professional jury and televoting.

Tomorrow, Eurovision.tv will bring you a full story on the upcoming event.

so if you want to watch too help yourself you may not understand what they say but there will be a commentator comentating in english ( i think?) so its worth a go! lol

GO GREECE!!!! <3

I don't know if you have already read that but there are security issues about the contest.
After the elast week's events against the US embassy in Belgrade, the national TV channel and the producers don't know if the contest will take place in Belgrade.
If not then Finland will host the show but it has to be confirmed if the contest will be aired from Belgrade or not.

It just seems complicated because the producers and the national TV channel can't, at the moment, confirm there will be no incidents towards the crowd or anybody else.

Ps: A big LOL at the Irish entry, it's so ridiculous. That's why I don't like Eurovision, at all.

It is a joke, it's like "Worst song of the year" contest. It can't be taken as serious, there are no talents at all in the competition. I think in these shows like X Factor, they should add as a part of the the winner's prize, the right to join the Eurovision contest. The level of the competition will raise a lot more. But it would work if all the countries do that.

i agree. Malta take the contest very seriously and have been soo close to winning, they came 2nd a couple of years in a row. winning would mean so much to them since it is a tiny island and the eurovision would bring massive tourism to the island. Go Malta.

Each participant will sing one song. A jury and televoters will decide who will represent Greece at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest.

Chrispa - A Chance To Love
Kostas Martakis - Always & Forever
Kalomoira - Secret Combination

Here's some infomation about greeces posable entrys

The 22-year old Chryspa released her debut album at the age of 18. In the past years, she released four more albums - the latest one last October.

Kostas Martakis is 23 years old. He started his career as a model and took part in Dream Show, a TV reality show. He has released one CD, Anatropi. Lately he represented Greece in the New Wave Festival where he finished in a joint 4th position.

New York-born Kalomoira Saranti, better known as Kalomoira, is 22 years old. She was the winner in the popular talent show Fame Story in 2004. Her debut album, Kalomoira, became gold. Kalomoira appeared in one of the longest running soap operas in Greece, before hosting a morning show. Her last album appeared in 2005.

Art director of tonight's show is Fokas Evaggelinos, who also had the artistic lead at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest in Athens.

The final will be hosted by the sisters Betty and Mathilde Maggira.

Greece has been successful over the past years - in 2005, Greece won the contest thanks to Helena Paparizou, her team and My Number One, in 2006 and 2007 Greek representatives finished top-10.
