Default Reasons to be cheerful

How about a good things thread?

Here's one from me to start with:

When You're Having A Bad Day...

When you have an "I hate my job day" - try this: On your way home from work, stop at the chemist and buy a thermometer. It has to be a Johnson and Johnson rectal thermometer. Nothing else will do.

When you get home, lock the door, draw the curtains, and disconnect the phone so you will not be disturbed during your therapy. Slip into something more comfortable and lie down on your bed.

Remove the wrapping from the thermometer carefully. Place it gently on
your bedside table so that it will not roll off and become chipped or broken. Take out the leaflet that comes with the thermometer and read it.

You will notice that in the small print right at the bottom is a statement which reads:

"Every rectal thermometer made by Johnson and Johnson is personally
tested."

Now close your eyes and repeat out loud, "I am so glad I do not work for quality control at the Johnson and Johnson Company."

Remember, there is always someone with a worse job than yours...........

Still, let's be positive - they could always double up as a

Here's another reason to be cheerful - for me, anyway........

I have lost 3st 13lbs (or 25 kilos if you prefer) since I embarked on a voyage of discovery to find my waist back in late January.

That has reduced my bust by at least ten inches, my waist by twelve and my hips by twelve inches too!

I can do four two hour gym sessions a week, and my pulse rate is back to normal within a few mins of finishing my exercise. (Rowing, Cross trainer, cycling, treadmill, resistance training etc)

In January I got out of breath walking and talking at the same time. I didn't need a tray because I could eat off my chest.

I realised the other day I couyld actually move about a foot closer to the table in a restuarant than I used to, and that I didn't have to rest on my elbows to eat.

Today I went through my wardrobe and threw out 3/4 of everything I own. That includes a few thing I bought around Christmas. Barely worn but won't be worn again by me!

There is only one item in there that's too small for me - and it's in sight. It's my favourite 'skinny' Laura Ashley frock from 1987. OK it's out of date, and it's probably not my style anyway, but beleive me - when I get into it comfortably, you'll be the first to know.

Fan bloody tastic ROB what an achievement. I've lost quite a bit but nothing like that. Still will encourage me to keep going - even though a few pints of the hard stuff in Dublin might pass my lips over next week-end.

All I can say is Helen better watch out - if the IPS sees the vision that is now ROB how will he resist.
