Default Gellar voices doubts over \'Buffy\' movie.

Sarah Michelle Gellar has explained her reservations about appearing in a big-screen adaptation of Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

The actress, who starred in the US TV show for seven years, said she was reluctant to reprise the role when the original 1992 movie had not worked.

She told Sci Fi Wire: "We had a lot to overcome on a TV show. Everyone's like, 'Why would you do that?' So then to go back [to a movie] feels kind of hard.

"One of the reasons [the original film] didn't really work on the big screen - and people blamed Kristy [Swanson, who played Buffy], but that's not what it was - is the story was better told over a long arc. And I worry about Buffy as a 'beginning, middle and end' so quickly."

She added: "You show me a script; you show me that it works, and you show me that [the] audience can accept that, [and] I'd probably be there. Those are what my hesitations are."
