Padded room for sad Britney

Troubled Britney Spears has been put in a padded room at a mental hospital.

Doctors say she must stay in the unit for 14 more days.

The star, 26, was sent to UCLA Medical Center’s psychiatric ward hospital in LA after a three-day meltdown.

Yesterday, her paperazzi boyfriend Adnam Ghalib attempted to visit her but was denied by Britney's mum Lynne.

Clutching a get well card and some flowers, Adnam was refused entry into the building.

Meanwhile the singer “hit the roof” when dad Jamie - with whom she has been feuding for years - was appointed guardian of all her financial, legal and medical affairs while she is in hospital.

The pair have feuded for years and Britney wants her lawyers to get the decision reversed.

But after a court hearing yesterday, Jamie has been allowed to continue in his role, after arguing his case with his representative Jeryll Cohen, who said:

"Mr Spears is here because his daughter is in great distress. He's trying to get her better.

"In the meantime, while she is in great distress, she needs him to watch over her assets."

However, before the court hearing, a source close to Britney said: “This is war. Britney is furious that while she is sick in hospital, the first thing her dad does is go to court to get control of her money.

“She has a business manager for that. She says she doesn’t trust her dad and just wants him to keep out of her business.

“Britney has been having screaming rows with her parents at the hospital. She hit the roof when she found out Jamie had been handed control of her affairs.

“She wants her parents’ love and support but doesn’t want them to intervene where they are not needed.”

Britney has had strained relations with her dad for years.

She said in a statement last year: “I am praying for my father. We never had a good relationship.”

It is believed her law firm Trope and Trope told the judge Britney objects to being under her dad’s control and ask for an impartial person be appointed as her guardian.

Jamie - who visited Britney at the hospital on Sunday afternoon - and lawyer Andrew Wallet, were given widespread power over Spears’s finances after a court named them co-conservators of her estate on Friday.



Courts grant this control when a person is deemed incapable of handling their own affairs.

Jamie was also named temporary conservator of her person - in charge of her basic care and needs.

Last night Britney's lawyers were back in court for another scheduled hearing in her on-going custody battle with ex hubby Kevin Federline.

Her lawyers had been expected to ask the judge to allow Britney supervised visits “in a therapeutic setting” with her sons Sean Preston, two, and one-year-old Jayden James.

But as Britney remained in a psychiatric ward, they ditched the plan, and Federline kept full custody.

Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon wants to establish whether Britney understands the legal proceedings taking place before they can pursue the case.

They are all bad influences. Her hangers on. The paps should leave her alone now, and she needs to get better and go away for a while to try and get some normality back in her life.

I think she should move to UK as our papperazzi aint as bad as the USA and she would have it easier here but first get her kids back.

The paps will never leave her alone, there should at least be rules or laws against how close they get to her. She should be allowed personal space.

apparently Californa has a law on papperazzi... in the dail star they say britney could end up being tied to her bed and injected so sad BUT i think this will FINALLY make her realise whats happened to herself

I dont think you can blame her parents too much. She did very well for quite a while before her breakdown occured. Something went horribly wrong in her life...in her brain...in her love life and...in her responsabilities as a mother.

yeh i agree we shouldnt blame the parents.People like Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera were in the same boat as her but there life hasnt turned out like Britneys.Its not her parents fault

It's bound to have had an effect though. I saw a program on britney and her mum was very pushy. She even decided which boyfriends she could and couldn't see!! Also, being such a big star at such a young age kind of robbed her of a proper childhood.

How many child stars end up in rehab?! It seems pretty common. I think it messes them up being so big at a young age.

She was always controlled by her mum and the press. It was only a matter of time before she decided to rebel and judging by the extent of how far it's gone, I'd say they must have been pretty controlling!

I've not got lots of sympathy for her though. If she didn't have kids I would have a lot more. She needs to take responsibility and put her issues aside for her kids sake. She's a millionaire, she should be living it up, not wasting away on a mental ward!

yeah on VH1 years back it was called Rise and Rise of britney and her mum was pushy.... i mean britney never had a normal teen life i mean justin & christina have avioded what i call the the curse of child stars i mean britney is now a mum herself i feel so sad for her
