I hate to admit it but I'm a member of loads of these sites. I am still getting over anorexia and I think its something you can never get over and without these sites it prob would never have got as bad but when you are in the midst of anorexia these sites seem like the best things around as they totally help you. I haven't been on any pro ana sites for about 3 weeks and don't want to but I know I prob will soon as its something you constantly think about and remember.

I agree it is a serious subject matter. I turned on the news this evening and there were about four or five girls with anorexic bodies; there bony bodies were disgusting; totally unhealthy and a horrible site. how could anybody get that bad? it is not size zero; it is size minus-zero and many shall end up in hospital; possibly intensive care. or worse; they could die.

any website that promotes anorexia as being something special is doing harm to unsuspecting victims. many victims being young girls who are craving for the size zero look; which they achieve by eating very little or starving themselves; as they are in a rush to get that thin bony body (free of muscle) and (free of fat)

I actually never knew these websites existed. I know there are sites dedicated to help those who suffer from anorexia and offer help; but I never expected there to be websites encouraging it.

I think it is really sad that these people are so desperate to be thin that they need to starve themselves. They have tried many times to close down this type of site but they just keep popping back up. I dont know what the answer is really.

You will never close them down for good, when you are in the middle of a 'bout' of anorexia nothing else matters but avoiding food. Nobody else can see why your doing it but other can.... on these sites that is. Everyone else tells you to eat but thats what you dont want to do so I can see how is become addictive to be on the sites. Sadly to say you never ever get over anorexia, it always stays with you. With some people it stays always with others you have periods of starvation and come out of it but it never stays away for good.

So its support you see, sad as it is nowhere elses offers you it apart from Pro-anorexia sites

This will sound harsh, distasteful etc but I think the only real way that the message will be put across is if someone high profile dies. Anorexics think what they are doing is good and there is no way to completely alter their view. These websites have to be closed down but as we all know that won't be the end of it and things just aren't that simple.

When I was anorexic, Pro-ana sites were the only things that helped Me at that time because no one knew that I was anorexic. I think there actually kinda good for getting Your thoughts out especially if U can't talk to friends or family about it and its always good to talk to people who go through the same things as You xx

if a pro-anorexia website helped you get through your anorexic state; then I am glad that you found it to be a great help in your case. but many don't find it a help; as these websites are making anorexia sound fashionable and actually promoting women to stay thin and continue to aim for size zero and below. how can that be good?

there are many other websites which offer help for those with anorexia; so there is really no-need for pro-anorexia sites anymore. (close them down) and spend more time pointing victims of anorexia in a better and safer direction. websites which offer help; real help and certainly don't promote anorexia either.

Someone told me about a proanorexia site tonight and i was browsing through and i was shocekd by some of things people were saying such as;
"I hate myself. Im so ******ing obese. I want to kill myself" This persons BMI was 16 when underweight is classed as 19 or less.
People should just be happy with who they are and accept that there the weight there at.
Thin is ugly, i hate women were there boney, and thin. its unattractive.

Why do we always target a third party by-product of problems , rather than the people who make the descicions to take up these problems?

Its not the pro anorexia sites that are the problem , its the idiots that buy into them , and subsequently think that men find uber-thin 'you could snort a line of coke off my left shoulder blade' girls attractive.
