Yeah Most Probs I Think it's stupid it should be voted on the song not the country I reckon the united kingdom shouldn't vote for anyone and then they would have no votes for other countries nd then see what happens to the scores!!!!!

It wouldn't matter if we had the biggest, most-liked, most well-known act in the world - the voting is political.

Agreed.

Which is why the thread title is slightly misleading.

If it was political then the UK wouldn't have won numerous ties in the past.

Many believe it was because the UK went to war, and that was like 2003. We haven't won since 1997.

Those were before we went to Iraq, Afghanistan and Kosovo.

The last one was 1997 - we finished 2nd in 1998, and have fallen behind since.

The number of participants has also increased a lot since then.

Not necessarily

The song does come into it at some extent. But some of these countries have a lot of neighbouring countries. Take...Hungary, for example. That has Austria, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Romania and Ukraine bordering...

Not really, there's still the other countries who don't have that many neighbouring countries voting and that makes up a decent amount of points which sometimes determines the outcome.

It's still mainly countries from the Eastern block who've won in recent years, most of the top 10 is made up of those countries too.The countries who aren't in the Eastern block usually don't do well.

Having someonle like Leona represent us. You cant have someone who has been commercially played in the lasy few years, or someone that has been commercially played other a certain amount of countries in a certain amount of years.

If that makes sense! lol

Jusr because she wonf the xfactor and had that massive hit with that song don't mean she'd win Eurovision. I think many other countries just would't gofor her anyway. Apart from that song I don't like her much really
