IT'S become a worldwide phenomenon and influenced countless imitators - and Big Brother is back.
Tonight sees the start of the fifth series of the daddy of all reality shows – and it promises to be the most watched yet. But BB5 has a lot to live up to. The UK's first Big Brother in 2000 saw "Nasty" Nick Bateman thrown out for cheating. And dozy Helen Adams had us all in stitches in BB2 with her memorable statement: "I love blinking, I do." But she seemed a genius compared with BB3's Jade Goody, whose many gaffes included: "I didn't realise Aberdeen was in Scotland," and an unfortunate strip on the sofa. Channel 4 deliberately toned down the show for the fourth series and that proved a big mistake as ratings sagged and viewers lost interest. Hopes are high for the fifth one.
