Default EastEnders buried-alive plot receives 167 complaints

The bosses at EastEnders are in a spot of bother this morning. Last Friday’s controversial episode – in which Max Branning was drugged and buried alive by his wife Tanya and her lover Sean Slater – has received 167 complaints. Ofcom has received 50. The programme, which was broadcast before the 9pm watershed, sparked off a series of complaints from viewers who felt the storyline was too extreme for family viewing. But a BBC spokesman commented: “EastEnders is known for its dramatic and gripping storylines and, from a total audience of ten million, the number of complaints is relatively small.” What do you think, was this storyline too much?

One of the best storylines they've had since EastEnders aired, in my opinion.

Haven't people got better things to do than complain about a TV programme.

If people don't like, it switch it off.

Who ever complained they need to get a life. Was watching things like HollyOaks and all that, the amount of times they make asex reference is unbelieveable, and I love HollyOaks, I'm just saying like you know.

Surprised it didn't receive more complaints on how it was written! Truely dreadful imo.

I didn't think that the burial was that bad at all, it contained no content that would not be suitable for an 8 o clock showing. People who complain really need to get a life, if you don't like it don't watch it.
