Default Big Brother produced with most effort/money

I'd say the UK.

The UK seems to have a massive budget!

A new logo must be produced each year. That means a totally new set of graphics including opening titles, a website, bilboard advertising, internet advertaising, TV advertising, end titles, live, time, HM profile, nomination graphics.

A rigerous and time consuming audition proccess which includes meeting up in secret locations and shipping final Housemates of to forgein hide outs for up to 3 weeks.

A new theme, about 50 - 60 tasks, and origional tiwsts must be invented. The team probably start this about half way through the series currently on air.

There is the addition of multiple spin off shows. Something most other editions dont even have one of.

The house is knocked to a literall shell. A new houseplan must be completly re-structured as well as completly new top of the range lighting, state of the art equipment and expensive designer furniture.

Sets have to be completly re-built to fit the theme of the new eye. That includes 4 studios.

A massive team of producers, directors, creative directors, editors, moniters, camera men, technisions, presenters, security gaurds, paramedics, electricians/plumbers, drivers, set builders, interior designers, make up artists, and script writers must be payed.

Extremely high profile presenters including Davina McCall, Dermot O'Leary and Russell Brand have all had long time contracts with Big Brother. This means millions are payed out to just the presenters each series.

Leases and permits must be paid. This includes paying for the location lease, studio rental, crowd permits, noise permits and planning permission.

It advertises constantly on channel 4 and in high profile locations on billboards and building in London. In the past, the eye was even imprinted into the ground/painted/reconstructed beside iconic UK monuments.

Shopping budgets and costume/prop rentals for tasks must be paid for by the crew.

Definately UK, USA and Australia. They can be considered as the big 3.

Yeah I forgot that one. Building a village was the biggest risk made in the BB history. I mean, imagine if it was a flop from the beginning, it would have been a disaster. And it lasted 1 year so it's a huge work !

Well yah, ofcource UK, but I think USA too. They have completely original and huge tasks that need a lot of designing and construction. Plus they have a bigger prise fund, and give a lot of prizes and big somes of money throughout the series.

I guess Germany too, they friggin tear the house completely down and build a new one each year instead of just the inside.

I thought Germany only ever had three houses (BB1 - 5) The 'blocks'

(BB6) The villiage

(BB7 - BB8) The new warehouse.

I would say germany spends the most money but BB:UK also spends alot and the house always looks great with funky designer furniture.

I wonder if we'll see more being spent on BBUK this year now Endemol are at the beginning of a heavily inflated three year contract - so C4 are paying them a few million more a year for the show. I hope some of that money is put straight into the show, rather than into shareholders bank accounts.

And of course we've always skimped (SIC?) on the jackpot - never really understood why it began at £70,000 rather than £100,000.

The last couple of years there has been more money available - there were two £100,000 winners last year, and in BB6 the jackpot could have been doubled too - so I think a £250,000 jackpot wouldn't be too much of a stretch for them - and I think it's what the show needs now. A nice chunky amount which makes it worth winning the show, but not too high (i.e. £1m) that it becomes all about the money.
