Default May launch likely?

Today we got the news that BB9 will last 13 weeks, so is it more likely that the launch will be in May so the series will finish in August.

Yes, I'd say so now.

However, you never know - they may begin/end later than usual...

Yeah, that's true. But Spike has a point - now a 13-week run has been confirmed, I think that it's likely there will be a May launch now.

If it starts on June 1st which is on a Sunday it would end on August 31st if the series lasted for 13 weeks exactly, so it could be a Sunday launch this year.

Thanks for the info.

I see Konnie Huq, Alexa Chung or Miquita Oliver are in the frame to replace Dermot on BBLB.

They say that every year.

Dirty Sexy Money is due to end on the 23rd May, so I think a 28th/29th May launch is very likely.

I hope it starts later - it would be nice to go back to school after summer with it being still on.

It usually starts in May doesn't it? I think 13 weeks is far too long.

I think that BB9 will be like BB5 in so many ways (it also fits the add-4 pattern that almost always works). In reality, 2008's summer Big Brother in the Anglophone world will probably all be radically different. BBAUS is being overhauled, BBUK is going to have some major changes, and BBUS' winter edition is a failure (maybe some changes there are well).

I would have said that this year was going to be the next BB5 if you'd asked me before this press release, but now I can see it being another 4 and 8 because it's 13 frigging weeks.

However, BB7 was 13 weeks and was good up untill week 10 or 11.

What annoys me though geoking, is that Channel 4 asked us fans what we wanted this year and EVERYONE except a few n00bs asked for a shorter series, and they ignored us. So it was a waste of our time even posting.

I was gonna send off my ideas for the series today by post, but having read the article, I'm just gonna rip them up.

Plus BBUS hasn't been too bad this year, it's not been as good as some of the previous years I've seen in youtube clips, but it's not been as bad as BB8UK was.

Let's hope in the summer, both series will be decent. But on the UK side of things, it looks unlikely.

I'll keep hopeful though, because the majority of the team are the same as they were in BB3, 5 and 7 and because Rebecca De Young has now gone.

It is more likely to start in May. It always does. Normally the last Friday in May or before. Now we know BB9 runs for 13 weeks, its probably safeto say it starts in May

The launch for this years series will be around the end of May to early June. There has been no confirmation on a precise date, although a May launch will fit better because of the shows lengthy duration.

It looks like BGT live shows will be scheduled every night from 26th May to 30th May, I can't see BB launching that week or the week before because it will damage the first week and even maybe the whole series of BB9 ratings.

So it could be more likely now that BB9 will launch early may or early June.
