Default If Big Brother UK Had the Big Brother USA Format...

What if Big Brother UK was exactly like Big Brother USA and had to be aired 3 times a week and had all those competitions ? How do you think the past series would go ?

I think it would be a complete flop amoungst most fans. I'd say ratings would drop by at least half.

i dont think BB would be here today if we had a version of BBUSA... it is a good show and suits American media very well but not the UK media... our BB suits its target audience well

It would suck. I like the daily highlights we have.

Probably wouldn't work too well as an exact copy. But if you mixed and matched some ideas it could be great, like maybe take ideas such as HOH and POV and letting housemates discuss nominations, but keep the nightly shows and keep the public vote etc.

It wouldn't work well, ratings would drop and it would be axed.

I don't agree. I think Makosi would have won series 6, and the twins winning series 8. Having said that, there wouldn't be a series 8, there wouldn't have even been a series 2.

the reason why i think Craig would of won is because he manipulated everyone and pretended that he liked them when he actually only like Anthony and the same with Ziggy

But Craig was in a team with Saskia, Maxwell and Anthony earlier being with Lesley and Sam. Makosi had the rest of the house on her side and was even more manipulative. Evil will more than likely win, unless of course you are Billi or Charley.

Makosi would have won hands down with Craig runner-up. On BB5, either Dan or Jason, I'm not too sure but they would have made the final 2.
On BB7, no one really as none of them was that intelligent to make a game plan or maybe Richard.
And in BB8...well either Liam or Ziggy, both competitors, but I would go for Liam.

Victor would have won BB5 and Makosi would've won BB6.

When you think about it our series isn't that different from BBUSA. Housemates still form teams and try to get rid of each other, they just are more restricted from strategising and coming up with good game plans because of the no talking about nominations rule. If they were allowed to discuss nominations it could actually be really entertaining.

I wouldn't care as I wouldn't have bothered to watch it. I love the way it works over here and I'm so glad we have imported the US format into our Big Brother.

I dont know if it woulve worked, but thats not an impossibility, if it was the only BB that the british public had ever seen. Having said that, judging from the series I have seen, BB USA is very big in alliances. So starting with BB5, I think Victor was a great gamer, but he didnt have enough allies to last. Therefore he wouldve been pcked off. Obviously, the lipstick gloss people had the numbers, so one of them wouldve won, and seeing as they have competitions for HoHs, I dont see Emma or Michelle, winning much, so I would say maybe stu woulve won. In BB6, Makosi had a pretty good allegiance in the house, so I could see her, science, vanessa or even Kemal winning. In BB7, team grace woulve been unstopable, but the queen b doesnt win, so it woulve been either Mickey or Lisa I think. In BB8 I imagine ziggy and Gerry woulve been pretty strong contenders.

I dont think weather you would like it or not, is the question from the OP here.

...It would put off a lot of viewers. I myself really not too keen on the american format. I like our format of how it works. Its watchable tv.

The Jungle Cats had just as big as an alliance as the Lip Gloss Bitches. The JC's had Victor, Jason and Ahmed, then Stu was a Jungle Kitten and if it came down to it Shell and Vanessa were on their side. The Lip Gloss Bitches had Nadia, Michelle, Emma and Marco.

That's sort spot on....just like to say things in a more long winded way.

Taking it further using the US system would have had quiet different housemates, especially in the later Big Brother's..

The dynamics of the house wouldn't be the same using the US system. It would be more Dog eat Dog. Not something that I feel the British public want just yet.

We are not the USA, we are English and we want programming which reflects our way being.

Yeah, we want to watch a bunch of airhead bimbo's discussing what minor z-list celebrity they caught a brief glimpse of in China Whites for 3 months on end...that's what we the British want.

as i said in my previous post i don't think it will do well here in the UK but i love the USA version (the house could do with a revamp) i think its more of a game and it makes me wonder what the purpose of ours is.. because there you try and get people on your side form alliances and get rid of people to ensure your survival.. over here they go into a house have fun and arguments and the ones people don't like are picked off. so here is a personality contest, either way i like both and think they are both good. i think the only thing we should take from BBUSA is the nominations are allowed to be spoken about.. i think even if it is only a trial run over a few weeks in the house just to see how the housemates change and start to work together and realise to win they need to get rid of certain people
