Default It\'s that time again…NUMBER THEORIES!

This has been one of those sporadic threads that pops up every once and a while, but seeing as there are a few new series of Big Brother approaching, I thought that it could use a refresher. Yes, it's the number theory thread, one that is completely pointless but quite coincidental.

Theory one: add 4

BB1 - BB5 - groundbreaking
BB2 - BB6 - underrated
BB3 - BB7 - overrated
BB4 - BB8 - failure

The add 4 theory seems to accurately denote similar Big Brother series based by number (and by extension, year) and the pairs seems to work. By this reasoning, BB9 will be a groundbreaking series and with all the rumours going around about re-invention, I'm not surprised.

Theory two: The trifecta

2002 - BBUK (3), BBAUS (2), and BBUS (3)
2005 - BBUK (6), BBAUS (5), and BBUS (6)

The trifecta theory is comprised of the idea that on two years - 2002 and 2005, all major Anglophonic Big Brothers are enterating. It comes in threes, meaning that 2008 should be an entertaining year for Anglophonic Big Brothers in the summer (BB9 US doesn't count because it's in the winter/spring, and it's horrid).

Theory three: odd-even

BB1, 3, 5, 7
BB2, 4, 6, 8

Apart from BB6, which was great, it seems as though odd Big Brother series do better ratings and critic-wise. Although correlated with the add 4 theory, it also incorporates the year in which each Big Brother happens. Again, BB9 should be a warmly-received series.

So what does this all mean:

Big Brother 2008 is going to be a great series (that is, if these theories have any validity, which they probably don't).

Intresting! I wouldn't necessarily say 1-5 were ground breaking more like ground cracking. They were just a launch pad for greater things.

So does that mean that BB9 is going to be a hit because if you add 4 to BB5 you get BB9 lol

I meant that in theory one that BB1 and BB5 are a pair, not every one between them.

these are interesting and co incidental and there arent any exception to the rule so i think BB9 will be a good series and it has everything going for it, auditions were earlier they are starting later
