Cheryl’s going it alone:
Those Girls Aloud split rumours just won’t go away, will they? When Nadine failed to show up for the Brit Awards in February, attention focused on her being the one wanting to walk, but could it have actually been Cheryl all along? The tiny star is allegedly planning to launch her solo career with top producer T2 (what is he? A make of car?), who recently had a top ten hit with Heartbroken. A source revealed, “Cheryl and T2 have been in discussions about her solo material. He is the man of the moment.” Someone who’s clearly still not the man of the moment is Cheryl’s disgraced husband Ashley – despite deciding to take him back, Cheryl is STILL not wearing her wedding ring and has been looking worryingly slim. Can the lasses of Girls Aloud really hope to make it as solo artists, or would it all be a bit of a Spice Girls repeat? Watch this space.
Pete takes heroin in prison
He's only been in prison for a matter of days, but it looks like Pete Doherty's already up to no good. Fellow inmates report that the musician is taking heroin in prison, despite being given the heroin substitute methadone to try and wean him off it. His manic craving for the drug is so fierce that it apparently shocks fellow lags. "They put him inside to force him to give up, but Pete always has a need to feed his habit," says an inmate. "He hasn't received his prison wage yet, so he's getting the drugs on credit and writing IOUs." *smacks head on desk*
Paris is paid 80k an hour
She's been travelling on tour with boyfriend Benji Madden's group Good Charlotte, but that doesn't stop Paris earning a bob or two – or, er, £80,000 – while she's in town. In an hour. Yes, Paris got paid the ridiculous fee for turning up to London club Mahiki (a favourite of Prince Harry) on Monday night, despite only staying for less than an hour, turning up late and swigging a few cocktails. If only we got paid to go to Wetherspoons, eh?
SATC star’s battle with cancer
Sex And The City star Cynthia Nixon has revealed that she is battling breast cancer. The actress, who plays the part of tough-talking lawyer Miranda in the hit series, discovered she had the disease 18 months ago, but decided to keep it quiet during her treatment. Speaking openly about it on American TV, the 42-year-old admitted she “felt scared” and that she always feared she would contract the disease as her mother had also had it. The determined mum-of-two admitted she’d continued working throughout her treatment, even having an operation and getting back on stage a few days later. She was also full of praise for the way Sex And The City had handled Samantha’s breast cancer storyline, saying, “It was beautiful. Leave it to Samantha to make a party out of cancer.” All our best wishes are with you, Cynthia.
