Default Clues from the schedules

It's no secret really that the launch will be pushed back to June to avoid a thrashing by Britain's Got Talent, and this is kind of confirmed by some confirmed scheduling for the next couple of weeks.

Firstly, on E4 on Thursday 1st May is the launch of The Inbetweeners - a six part sitcom, but it begins with a double bill so that'll conclude on the 29th, clear of the schedules by Thursday 5th June, the predicted launch.

On C4 on Friday 2nd May Trick or Treat and Peep Show occupy the 10-11pm slot for six weeks, so that's through to Friday 6th June.

Dirty Sexy Money though in the 9pm slot will finish on Friday 23rd May, so there should be an hour free for BB at 9pm on what is predicted to be Day 2, and then from the next week (Fri 13th June), the Friday night schedules should be completely free for accommodating the eviction shows. The Charlotte Church Show is expected to return to run alongside Big Brother.

Elsewhere in the week the only night where C4 have anything major blocking the schedules is Wednesdays with Desperate Housewives. June 4th would be episode 11, with 4 more to run.

If I were C4 I think they should do the sensible thing and put Big Brother firmly back in the 10pm slot - and hold the remaining Desperate Housewives episodes back until the autumn. Due to the writers strike anyway there was a four-month gap between episode 10 and 11 in airing in the US.

Monday-Thursday at 10pm would be a very wise move especially with the news on BBC1 and ITV1.

The day 2 you say could well be just an ordinary highlights show at 9pm especially as its highly unlikely that there will be a live Davina show then.

A very interesting post though, thanks for that.
