Default Work Experience?

Hi!
My year group has just been given our work experience forms. Were going to be doing it on 13th October - 17th October, a long way away i know but still, I was just wondering if anybody else on Tibb has done work experience yet? And if so what did you do? I really need some ideas lol.

I dont know whether id like to do something arty, something ivolving ICT or something involving business. I want to stay away from working in shops (not that theres anything wronge with that kind of work lol). My mum has told me she would like it if i worked in her office but i dont really want to. I suggested going to work in a nursery (because my friend did it and said she really enjoyed it), but my mum disagrees and says that unless i want to work with children when im older then it isnt going to help.

Any suggestions??
xx

I worked at a primary school and I have no intentions of becoming a teacher whatsoever.
I did it for the skills of working with children and communication; which'll come in handy for me in the future.

Aww, see thats why i thought of going to a nursery but my mum seems to disagree with that . I keep telling her its just to get us used to working and commitment but she dosent listen. She keeps telling me shes helped me with suggestions when all shes given me is office work x

Well I did a playschool and a primary school which I LOVED. But I want to work with children.

I know most people just went to random offices and did photocopying for about a week. I like the sound of something arty but have no idea what you could do! Arty people in my year went to architetes(I can't spell)

Good luck!

I went to a primary school for my work experience and it was the worst week of my life.

The teachers there gave me no jobs to do so I sat in a classroom all day talking to year 6 kids for a whole week. The assistant teachers there were just bitches they kept telling the head teacher I was chewing gum just because one of them was going to get the sack at the end of the week and they thought if they told on me they would keep their jobs. The head teacher threatened to throw me off my placement because I was chewing gum and called the children names. I hated the whole experience the teachers were nasty, the kids were nasty and it was just boring.

Most of my friends when they did it had nothing to do with what they want to do in the future, like one of my friends worked in an ice cream cafe and she wants to be a lawyer or something and others worked in office's

I worked at my old primary which was ok.. just a tad boring at times.
But it made me know that I seriously don't want a job in teaching.

Aw sorry to hear that, do you think that people would be like that in a nursery? And plus that wasnt really your fault if the teachers never gave you any jobs to do, what else were you ment to do? x

No I think it would be fun at a nursery, I would be so immature and just play about with the kids. Its the teachers fault, I bet if I went to a different school with different teacher I would have enjoyed it.

Well I usually work in the luxury ones you know (thanks to my father lol). You really need to have a strong character, nothing is easy, you need to shut up but also to be very professional. You must not be lazy lol And you earn a lot of ŁŁŁŁ

It's a lot of fun but yeah, very tiring. And it's a good thing you want to do something involving business. I love that industry too lol
