Default Sleep

On average how many hours sleep do you get each night?

I get around 9 hours normally, without at least 6 hours I never seem to be able to function right these days. It's strange, a couple years back I went through a spell of just never being able to settle but now I'm always out pretty quick.

Is there anything you do to get you off to sleep?

For a period I was getting no sleep at all, with occasional 4/5 hour sleeps.

Nowadays I get around 7 hours, depending on whether or not I have school. On weekends it's usually 8-9 hours.

About 5 hours of broken sleep on normal nights, less on bad nights, more unbroken on good nights.

I need a good 8/9 hours sleep or I am grouchy as hell.

But I sleep badly most nights, lots of broken sleep and waking up with a startle.

I am a habitual clock watcher and I cant get out of the habit. Its most annoying.

I get to the stage where I am dead on my feet and have to go to bed really early because I havent had a good nights solid sleep for ages and then I will sleep for 10 - 12 hours

I find it impossible to get to sleep. Always having streams of great thought in bed that keep me awake. When I do fall asleep , however , im out like a light and thats it. I set my alarm early the next morning because I only ever like to get about 5 hours sleep a night anyway. I have been able to do shitloads of extra stuff over the summer months as a result of not going to bed until 2 and waking up again at 7.

Sometimes if a game or movie is THAT good , I will neglect sleep entirely for one night.

Trust me , doing an all nighter and watching the day get bright between 4 and 6 when the world is still asleep is beautiful.

But on weekends its a different story! Last weekend i got 1 hour sleep because i went to a sleepover!! But if im at home on a sleepover i still go to bed at around 4am-ish but get up at like 2pm, so yeah thats when i sleep best

Im not a big fan of the whole 'required sleep for a certain age' argument. I just do whatever feels right to me.

I absolutely hate sleep and I'm up at about 5 am .. not that there's anything to do normally i record something on sky+ to watch in the morning before getting ready for college
I find it quite boring and once I'm up thats it ... once I get into bed thats it out like a light luckily!

This is actually why I'm a Big Brother fan because I have trouble sleeping so if I'm watching something boring as hell (the live feed) I'll drop off pretty quickly. Like Morpheus, I get a load of thoughts so I have to keep myself occupied, and I can't sleep in silence either so the live feed isn't completely silent and it keeps me occupied from random thoughts. But I can't sleep practically at all in heat so lately I've been up at around 7am-9am despite not having to get up for anything which means I'm generally in bed earlier (10pm-1am) than I usually would be.

In the winter and when its not boiling, I'll get about 7 hours. If its the summer and I've got the sun beaming through the window at 6am then I'll get about 4-6 hours. This morning I went to bed at 7am (because I had people round, and I still do littered around the house crashed out) and I was up again by 10am.

On weekdays I always go to bed around 12:30 and i'll get up at 6:20-9 o clock depending on what time i need to be in college. On wednesdays weekends and holidays i go to bed really late like $ in the morning and I ussually get up around 10-12.

So basically

Weekdays: 6 hours or so
weekends: 6-8 hours

Without my alarm i can sleep for hours though, i'm a very deep and lucid dreamer.
