Wannabee chart-topper Chanelle Hayes is fuming after her bid for pop stardom was scuppered by Radio 1.

The babe was hoping for support from the country’s biggest station after recording interviews for fellow Yorkshire-born star Chris Moyles.

But the babe’s single I Want It, which is set to crack the top 20 today after a last-minute rush in sales, was banned by the sniffy station chiefs who didn’t think it was good enough.

Last night a source close to the 20-year-old star said: “She’s upset because they thought she was good enough to interview but not play her record every day.

“It’s a bit of a cheek and she felt a bit used. It’s a great record. Radio 1 were a bit sneaky.”

Meanwhile the babe – linked to Tottenham footie star Tom Huddlestone – is in the middle of a WAG war with model Charlotte Mears, 23, and former Shipwrecked babe Naomi Millbank-Smith, 22, after calling them “wannabe WAGS”.

A furious Charlotte said: “How can Chanelle have the cheek to call us wannabe WAGS? She basically admitted she was was one herself so I don’t know how she can now accuse me of being one!”

Naomi said: “Chanelle had better watch out because if we see her, it will get messy.”
