Default Looks like BB is back at 10pm - Desperate Housewives pulled!

Full explanation here: http://www.bbspy.co.uk/index.php?sub...1305377&ucat=1

Basically TV listings out today indicate next week's Desperate Housewives will be the last episode until "later in the year", taking out the main thing preventing BB airing at 10pm each night.

The 9pm slot on Tuesday and Wednesday is filled with The F Word and River Cottage, while programmes for June on channel4sales.com seem destined for the 9pm slot rather than 10pm - absolutely no peak-time drama has been commissioned.

My Name is Earl etc. are likely to just be pushed back to a later slot on Thursdays, meaning BB will be back at 10pm from Monday to Thursday - exactly where it belongs.

Eviction night will have to be adapted now Corrie has nicked the 8.30pm slot, with 9-10.30pm looking most likely, followed by The Friday Night Project. There doesn't look to be any filler programmes for the 9.30pm slot.

Weekends still to be confirmed, but likely to remain on Sunday at 9pm. If On the Couch is back, the 8pm slot will be free too - and what happens on Saturday night is down to C4 really. The slot is available if they want BB, but personally I think it's best to keep the one night off a week.

So C4 are finishing and moving programs to fit around Big Brother it shows they really want it to work this year, well done C4. I am annoyed at C4 pulling Desperate Housewives but its the best for Big Brother because t can't go up against the Apprentice. Looks like C4 are doing everything they can to make this a successful series.

It looks like they're capitalising on BBC and ITV News at Ten. That would be a very logical solution. 10pm is also the time when a lot of people are just getting settled after coming in from being sat outside, assuming we will actually get a summer

The good thing about the 10pm slot this year is there is no competition, I doubt Big Brothers audience make sure they watch the 10pm news every night. BB9 could be getting some very good ratings and winning its slot regularly.

Big Brother is a true 10pm show. It always felt strange watching it at 9.

I've always thought of BB as that guilty desert you probably shouldn't have but can't resist, so it's always worked best in the later slot, rather than served up as the main course earlier in the evening.

Crucially though this means the shows main competition will always be the news on both BBC1 and ITV1, which not only gives it a better chance of picking up more viewers, but will also give it a more stable viewer base too as people won't be dipping in and out of it dependent on what is on other channels on certain nights of the week.

BB9 is shaping up to be a fabulous series. Well done C4 if you have finally learned that BB will do great at a 10pm slot!

As Tom_ said.... during the summer 9pm is just too early. I always end up going out or chatting with people around that time.... 10pm makes much more sense.

But this means BBBM will be on at 11pm... which is good too.

Inside Big Brothers Youtube account is probably the best place to get them all in one place , if you dont mind annoying watermarks.

Watermarks

Anyway, does this mean the eviction show will just be one long show? Not split in two?

I'm really happy that Big Brother will be shown in its original 10pm slot. That's where it works best, and it just felt strange watching it at 9pm.

I'm sure they could have worked around Desperate Housewives without pulling it completely, but if it means a more sucessful BB then I'm happy to wait 3 months. It would be better if this week's was the last because it's the one with the hurricane, which would end on a high.

People would be complaining if DH was being pushed out to 11pm, or even if it moved earlier to 9pm.

I know with one of the earlier series they moved Teachers to 9pm to accommodate Big Brother at 10pm and it didn't do as well in the earlier slot.

DH is taking a break though at a natural point in the series. I'm guessing though it was a late decision as otherwise I think they'd have bought it back earlier to get the series in before BB.

The next question then is whether the 10pm shows will be finished at 10.50pm or 11.05pm. Personally I hope for 10.50pm - as I've said before I believe the slightly shorter show results in a better edited show with less filler material. Also, for those put off by the later start time it means they'll be in bed 15-minutes earlier, so may watch rather than deciding not too because it finishes too late.

I hope for a 10.50pm finish too because its about half an hours worth of highlights and on the odd occasion they extend the show giving a real impression that something interesting and major has happened.
