\'Col’s sigh of Big Brother Roo-lief\' - The Sun
Quote:
Published: 21 May 2008
COLEEN McLoughlin can breathe a sigh of relief – two members of fiancé Wayne Rooney’s wayward family have missed out on a place in Big Brother 9.
Wayne’s cousins Stephen, a gay cross-dresser, and Natalie, who flashed her boob at Coleen’s 21st birthday bash, failed to make the cut for the Channel 4 hit, which starts on June 5 – but only just.
Coleen will be over the moon.
The WAG has already banned the badly-behaved pair from her lavish Italian wedding next month so she’ll be chuffed they won’t be able to embarrass her on TV in the run-up to her nuptials.
But we think BB bosses have made a huge mistake not getting them in the house.
You will recall us telling you about Natalie, 18, getting her much-aired assets pumped up to a massive 32F and Stephen, 24, dressing up as a Spice Girl.
The children of Wayne’s uncle John are clearly perfect, scummy, Big Brother fodder.
But, alas, it’s not to be.
A Big Brother source told us: “Stephen and Natalie were brilliant at the auditions and they did go quite far in the process.
“But a decision was taken that we didn’t want to have the series hijacked by them.”
They’re not the first members of the extended Rooney clan to make a bid for fame.
Yet another cousin of the Manchester United star, R&B singer James, tried his luck on The X Factor in 2006.
He failed to make the big time too.
The BB finalists are currently being smuggled out of the country as producers decide who will actually be going into the House From Hell.
Unfortunately, two brilliant candidates will be spending their summer out in the real world.
