Default I hate bank holidays

because...
it makes me feel like its a sunday and i should be doing 'sunday things'(i dont actually like sundays to start with and its like having 2 in one week)

its like a 'rule' with my friends that bank holiday sunday everyone has to come on the night out but everywhere is always really packed and people bump into you with their drinks, fights always kick off, theres double the arguments, drinks and enty fees are twice the price, taxi que is about 50 thousand times longer than usual and you normally get your head stuck under someones sweaty arm pit on the dance floor. But still you feel like you should go out becuase god forbid you might miss something exciting/interesting
eg,good scrap,bit of gossip,someone falling over ect.

I work in a hotel and were not entitle to bank holidays off which sucks becuase then you either have to put in a holiday or request the day off to allow yourself the night on the tiles on sunday and as i said before, wouldn`t want to miss anything now would we?
Plus we dont even get double time for working bank holidays

Most of the shops are closed or they close early,i once went to metro centre on my birthday which happened to fall on easter bank holiday that year and to my horror it was closed.I was only about 10,gutted

The busses! As if the public trnasport in my area isnt bad enough on bank holidays there is like one bus a day!so going to visit friends in another town or going to the few shops that might be open for half an hour is out of the question anyway

People do nothing on bankholidays!everyone i know is so lazy on bank holidays and never wants to do anything. Most people seem to have to visit relatives but seeing as i dotn have many close to home i just get stuck in the house.People always want to do wiered things on bank holidays aswell-like go for walksor go on bike ridesor even wierder-bake

so there is my little winge about bank holidays

You know, when I first saw the title of this thread I thought to myself... 'You've got problems if you don't like bank holidays'

But I do agree with you on a heck of a lot of stuff here... especially the going uot the night before c**p. It's like its the law... but why do people wanna go out and waste money on something that's just gonna make them really ill the next day? Grr!

You can gaurantee I don't see daylight on bank holidays. They depress me, the tele is changed, everybody feels the need to 'make the most of the bank holiday' and I generally don't like them. Plus, , I'm on antibiotics so couldn't even go out if I wanted to.

They aren't too bad when I get the day off 6th form, but I was off this week anyway.

It's just a national holiday to celebrate something usually individual to the nation. Which means a day off school and a day of work, normally. Its called bank holiday because banks have to shut I guess.

Noodles, I can't help but notice that you are moaning that you have to work, but you then want the shops to be open and the buses running.

Just a thought.

I don't mind them, but then again there not my favourite thing. I can see how adults would enjoy the bank holiday weekend with the whole nights out thing but because I'm only 16 I'm not old enough to do that and I would rather be in school to be honest so I can be with my friends.

I'm sad, I know
