Default Will the ratings of BB5 launch ever be beaten?

I doubt it very much. Aside from the great advertising, it was the Friends finale that really gave it a great push.
The launch averaged 7.2 million, the finale of friends pulled in almost 10 million which is huge for any channel.

If they would want to see that happen again they would need to put a very popular show before it. But the problem is that there arent any shows that get lots of viewers on Channel 4 to give it a good lead in which is really annoying.

I think they should move a massive show to channel 4 to give the launch good ratings. How about EE or Coronation Street

En less BB turns out to be a success then possibly, but over the years the ratings have gradually gone down due to less people wanting to watch the show, it all really depends on this series. If it is a hit and higher ratings than BB8 then hopefully the next series after the ratings will continue to rise.
It's highly unlikely that BB9 will beat those ratings.

also the rating would go up even more if bb was advertised on other channels such as bbc and itv or even sky one, obviostly c4 would need to get permission which would cost them a hell of alot but i dont think it bb5 launch will be beaten unless the advertising streaches futher than c4 or as other people have said a big show is on before the launch!!

I think it could only if C4 advertises big time: billboards, magazines covers, tv promos all the time, little reminders during soaps which seem to be very popular.

I think it could get those launch ratings again only if BB9 is a success

No i think the finale of Friends had a massive part to play in BB5's big ratings... they have advertised this one more but maybe they need to show an Ad that shows some of the highlights of previous BB's in order to show people what its about and get people to know what its about and remember how good the programme is

I'd like to think that BB9 would beat BB5's launch show ratings, but I doubt it will. Although, I still believe it will do better than last year, with all the promo they have been doing.

C4 need to have the launch of BB9 to be on the same night as a high rating show. So viewers wont bother to change the channel when the launch starts.
