Default Remakes which you like

In another thread someone said 'most remakes are rubbish'

I actually dont think so. I think a lot of remakes nowadays are actually really good.

Freaky Friday is one of my favourite films ever! With Lindsay Lohan. A lot better than the original.

The only one I can think of is the Departed which was a remake of the classicHong Kong actions films Internal affairs i and ii. I dont think remakes usually are better than the original for instance. The Hitcher, the vanishing,The assassin were all poor remakes.

"the vanishing,"

My poor eyes. How did they manage to remove all of the foreboding suspense and horror of the original.

I thought the remake of the Night Of The Living Dead was better than the black and white version.

I've got this thing for Zombie horror movies.

Let's see...

The Grudge (Not the best film ever but it's better then the original, this one actually makes sense!)
Dawn of the Dead
Batman Begins (More of a re-imagining but oh well)

and my mind's suddenly gone blank, I'll have to add to the list when i can think of more.
