Default This weeks task: Stinging Challenge

Press release - I'm shocked!

Big Brother will test the housemates' physical endurance during the third Saturday night live challenge, tomorrow night at 9pm on Channel 4.

At the beginning part of the show, the housemates will be told to split into teams of four and five. The team made up of four housemates will be told to pair up for the first half of the two-part challenge. One will assume a wheelbarrow position while the other will be the 'pusher' and in a race against time they will have to collect as many tokens as possible. Each token will be worth an amount of time and the total time accumulated will make up the length of time of the second part of the task will take.

Then comes Big Brother's evil twist. For the second part of the challenge, the remaining five housemates will have to hang from a bar above a patch of stinging nettles and remain there for the length of time that they accumulated during the first part of the challenge.

£2000 will be lost for each housemate who falls from the bar. This means they could potentially lose a total of £10,000 if they fail this task, so they will need to hang on tightly if they want to preserve the £85,000 that currently stands.

Will the housemates keep a firm grip to their prize fund or will they face a prickly reception from the wheelbarrow team? To see how the housemates get on, tune into the live show on Saturday 12 June at 9pm.
______________________________

Surely there is danger implications here? I don't know anything about the damage stinging nettles can do, but I imagine it's not nice having all your ankles and feet covered in stings

Maybe BB will use fake looking nettles, to make the housemates think they are real.

- Mark

They hurt when you slightly brush by one so to land in a pile of them must bring a lot of pain, rather them than me

I think if they hit them with force, it wouldn't hurt that badly, afterall, nettles are only really effective when they're brushed against. One thing worth considering, though, is whether they're going to be real nettles...

Health and safety would be particularly against them being real nettles.

I suppose it could be a mind over matter thing, put fake nettles in see if they claim they hurt or not but I cannot see BB being that thoughtful this is, after all, evil BB.

i think that if they had fake stinging nettles that once one housemate has fallen down, they will tell the others that they are fake and theyl all just jump down. It wouldn't work.

This sounds a little bit more like Survivor than Big Brother!

I think some of this year's lot would be more suited to a show like Survivor, where nominations can be discussed and proper alliances formed - particularly Jason, Victor and Vanessa who seem to be the most ruthless.

It will be interesting to see who is hanging onto the bar - I would back some of them to stay on, but others, no way!!! (Marco, this includes you!)

I do like how they tried to claim that Big Brother changed the rules... considering a platform is something that supports something... like the bars... and it did say that housemates must not be assisted...

One day, they will learn.

Still, did like Dan getting irritated at the loss of money, then quickly saying he wasn't bothered... a lie methinks?

BIG respect to Shell for being the only one who could hang on for long enough!!

Poor Marco with no shoes on - he had no chance of not getting stung, did he??! He couldn't be hanging from the bar if his knees were wrapped around that pole!

LOL I think it is soooooo funny how they all think they can outwit BB & I agree with you Dustmite. I think Dan is a wee tad peed off at the challenge. I loved the way he had to use Armani & then swear live just to get back at BB. Me hopes Michelle & Emma get to punish him for that or BB gives him a warning for being so childish (I love Dan but I hates losers lol)
