Robbie Williams appeared to be channelling the spirit of DJ Tony Blackburn when he stepped out for a night out in Los Angeles.

The pop star had disappeared from the partying scene for several months but showed he was back with a vengeance by partying until 2am.

He had obviously returned to his trademark flamboyant style with an open shirt showing off his chest hair - shunning the casual beard and puffa jacket he was seen sporting in The Netherlands last winter.

With long brown hair, chest hair, a large necklace, a healthy glow and a tailed suit, Robbie looked more like a man from the Mediterranean than someone from Stoke-On-Trent.

The former Take That star looked unrecognisable at the end of last year when he was photographed holidaying in Amsterdam with American millionairess Ayda Field.

Dressed in a beanie hat and blue puffa jacket, bearded Robbie had evidently packed on the pounds.

But it seems the singer has been working out since the winter and was cutting a much more toned figure during a night out in West Hollywood on Monday.

The 34-year-old singer had shaved off his beard for the hot California summer, but appeared to keep the scissors away from his long hair cut.

Arriving at trendy club Villa with two male friends, Robbie showed off his LA tan and his rug of chest hair as he signed autographs for fans.

Just two months ago, a heavier Robbie was spotted kissing a mystery brunette named Susanna on a golf course near his home in the Hollywood Hills.


On 16 January 2008 it was announced that Robbie had been working on some songs with former Ian Dury and the Blockheads star Chaz Jankel. In the same article it said that the reunion with Guy Chambers hadn't worked out and that the material that Robbie is working on with Chaz Jankel will form the basis of his next studio album. However, although it has been confirmed on the Blockheads official site that Chaz is writing with Robbie, the rumour that Guy Chambers is no longer working with him, is not official.

He's such an interesting character. I'm glad to see him looking better and not hidden away, but it has probably done him good. I'm sure his next album will be awesome, I even loved 'Rudebox'!

He's been under the radar for months while his former TAKE THAT buddies have been hogging the limelight, but it seems ROBBIE WILLIAMS is back. The Prince of Pop made a rare public appearance outside STK restaurant in Hollywood last night and looked to be back to his best. The singer was pictured looking tired and bloated last month and friends feared he was losing his weight battle once again. But last night the Robster, sporting longer locks, looked better than ever.
