If Emma and Michelle could have chosen the first person to bite into their homemade chilli chocolate cake, chances are it wouldn't have been their chum Marco. But it was.

Earlier today Big Brother asked the Bedsit buddies to make a cake for the housemates and gave them the choice of whether they'd like to add chilli to the recipe. An hour later three chillis and a whole pot of chilli powder were added to the sponge cake.

Michelle and Emma sat watching on the plasma screen as the housemates tucked into the European buffet (a present from Big Brother as part of the football task), and it was Marco that was first to reach for the cake.

"Oh no, oh my God," screeched the pair when the law student cut into the sponge.

Laughing hysterically, the girls watched the 21 year-old remove himself from the buffet table and take his first bite into the chilli concoction.

Marco's face contorted as his mouth fired up and his throat began to blaze like a Bunsen burner.

"They've put chilli in that cake. You're so out Big Brother," he groaned, before rushing to the kitchen to get a glass of water.

Back in the Bedsit, Emma and Michelle, while still in hysterics, conceded that they would have preferred Victor to have been their first victim.

Dan was keen to taste the chilli cake and trying it, confirmed that it was indeed stacked with the spice. Suspecting Big Brother of the wrong-doing, the Hull hairdresser said, "Yeah, they're taking the p**s."

"Mean people," piped up Nadia.

Having recovered slightly from his shock, Marco wondered whether the chilli cake might not be part of the European style buffet.

"Are you sure in some country, it's not tradition?" he wondered, before going onto conclude, "So twisted, it's not even funny."
